It lies in the Upper Calder Valley, 10 miles (16 km) east of Burnley and 7 miles (11 km) west of Halifax. The village, which has a population of approximately 4,000, is in the Luddendenfoot Ward of Calderdale Council.

Stoodley Pike is a 1,300-foot (400 m) hill in the south Pennines in West Yorkshire in northern England. It is noted for the 121-foot (37 m) Stoodley Pike Monument at its summit, which dominates the moors of the upper Calder Valley and the market town of Todmorden. The monument is near the villages of Mankinholes and Lumbutts, West Yorkshire, and was designed in 1854 by local architect John Green, and completed in 1856 at the end of the Crimean War.

Eastwood falls within the Calder ward of Calderdale council.

In 2021 he co-founded Male Allies Challenging Sexism (MACS), a pro-feminist men's organisation that supports women’s sex-based rights and stands in solidarity with the radical feminist / women’s liberation movement. Green was previously a full-time lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University
Halifax is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, in West Yorkshire, England. It is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. In the 15th century, the town became an economic hub of the old West Riding of Yorkshire, primarily in woollen manufacture with the large Piece Hall square later built for trading wool in the town centre. The town was a thriving mill town during the Industrial Revolution with the Dean Clough Mill buildings a surviving landmark. In 2021, it had a population of 88,109. It is also the administrative centre of the wider Calderdale Metropolitan Borough.
