In December 2023, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , William Brent Bell confirmed that a third film in the Orphan (2009) franchise was in active development, with Isabelle Fuhrman reprising the titular role. [2] The film had officially been greenlit in November 2024, with Lionsgate distributing. [3]
In May 2025, Fuhrman commented to Screen Rant in an interview that David Coggeshall was in the early stages of writing the film and expressed her excitement at making another Orphan film for the fans of the previous ones, who showed her love for her in her first horror convention two or three weeks ago before the interview, praising Coggeshall's script and assuring that the film will be great if produced.
