Oti Uttam is a 2024 Indian Bengali-language fantasy romantic comedy film written, co-produced and directed by Srijit Mukherji [2] [3] [4] under Camellia Productions and Matchcut Productions. Veteran Bengali actor Uttam Kumar appears in the screen through Visual effects from his existing clippings from his various films. [5] [6] His character was built by the scenes of his 56 existing old movies. [7] [8]
Krishnendu, a Ph.D. researcher working on a project on Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. He likes a girl but gets refused every times. The researcher decides to bring his icon Uttam Kumar's spirit through planchette. Mahanayak's grandson helps him in to fulfill the love life of researcher. But things get complicated when Sohini falls in love for with Uttam Kumar at the first sight of his spirit. [9]
The music of the film is composed by Saptak Sanai Das and lyrics are penned by Dhrubojyoti Chakraborty, Kaustuv Bhattacharya and Srijit Mukherji.
The first single "Saiyyan Beimaan" was released on 14 February 2024. [10] The second single "Chawl Meye" was released on 21 February 2024. The third single "Mon Kharaper Gaan" was dropped on 28 February 2024. The fourth song "Bondhu Bhaabi" was releasesd on 8 March 2024.

The film was scheduled for theatrical release in 2023. [11] After multiple delays, the film has theatrically released on 22 March 2024.
Poorna Banerjee of the Times of India rated the film 3 out of 5 stars and praised Mukherji for his efforts to create a cinematic cosmos out of his existing chaotic filmography, but she criticised the length, the loopholes in the plot and the performance of the cast, except Anindya. [12] Shamayita Chakraborty of OTTplay rated the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote "Srijit Mukherji scores 10 on 10 in effort but an aerial Uttam Kumar fails him." She praised Mukherji's experimentation, the music but criticised the story and missing links from the story. [13]
Agnivo Niyogi of The Telegraph reviewed the film on a positive note, praising the cinematography, Mukherji's efforts for integration of dialogue snippets and visuals from Uttam Kumar's films and the acting of the whole cast. [14] Hindustan Times and Sangbad Pratidin also gave similar reviews on the film. [15] [16]

Saptapadi is a 1961 Indian Bengali-language Epic romantic drama film by Ajoy Kar, starring Suchitra Sen, Uttam Kumar, Chhabi Biswas and Chhaya Debi. Music direction and playback singing for Kumar's voice was by Hemanta Mukherjee and in Sen's voice by Sandhya Mukherjee. The story is based on a 1958 same name novel by Tarasankar Bandyopadhyay. This is regarded as one of the greatest romantic films in the history of Bengali cinema. The film went on to become the highest grossing Bengali film in 1961. It was featured retrospectively at the 45th IFFI in the "homage section" of Indian panorama.
Ogo Bodhu Shundori English: Hey Beautiful Bride) is a 1981 Bengali comedy film, directed by Salil Dutta. It was one of the last films of the iconic Bengali actor Uttam Kumar, who died during production. A lookalike, Prabir Kumar, was brought in to stand in for Kumar for the final sections of the film and for the song O Daddy, O Mummy. The film starred also Moushumi Chatterjee, Sumitra Mukherjee, Ranjit Mallick and Santosh Dutta. The movie is a Bengali reworking of the story of Pygmalion, heavily drawing upon the British musical My Fair Lady.
Srijit Mukherji is an Indian film director and screenwriter who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. His regular collaboration with veteran actor Prosenjit Chatterjee brought him into the limelight. His first feature film Autograph (2010), was a critical and commercial success, where he had written the script with Chatterjee in mind. His fifth film, Jaatishwar, won four national awards at India's 61st National Film Awards (2014). He won the National Film Award for Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay for his sixth film, Chotushkone, at India's 62nd National Film Awards. His eighth film, Rajkahini had been remade into a Hindi film titled, Begum Jaan, starring Vidya Balan in 2017. The film follows Iqlakh, a poor janitor, who kidnaps a little girl and takes her hostage for 48 hours in order to demand his lost job.
Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei, also known by the initialism SBSKN, is a 2025 Indian Bengali-language legal thriller film written and directed by Srijit Mukherji. The film is an official adaptation of the 1989 Hindi film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, which is itself a remake of the American film 12 Angry Men (1957) directed by Sidney Lumet, which was an adaptation from a 1954 teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose.
