Overboard! is a 2021 visual novel game developed and published by Inkle. It was released in June 2, 2021, for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Windows.

Gameplay

In Overboard!, the player must prevent other passengers from finding out that Veronica has murdered her husband. Throughout the eight hour journey, the player can visit various areas throughout the ship and talk with the other passengers. The player can choose their own responses; this affects the game's ending as the story progresses. [1]

Plot

Veronica Villensey murders her husband on a boat during a trip to New York. The ending changes based on the player's choice.

Overboard! is Inkle's sixth game after 80 Days and Heaven's Vault .

Reception

On the aggregator website Metacritic, Overboard! has received a "generally favorable" rating for the Nintendo Switch and PC ports. [2] [3] On OpenCritic, the game has a 96% approval rating. [4]

The Dark Pictures Anthology is an anthology series of interactive drama and survival horror video games developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The anthology is planned to consist of eight games, with each game inspired by a different horror genre. Each game features five main characters whose survival depends on the choices made by the player. While each character only appears in one game, face models are often reused in other games, except those of the leading actors. The games use a third-person perspective and the ability to choose from various dialogue options and courses of action.
