Parvatagouda Gaddigoudar (1 June 1951) is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India. He also represented the 14th Lok Sabha. He represents the Bagalkot constituency of Karnataka since 2004 and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) political party.
Parvatagouda Gaddigoudar was born on 1 June 1951 at a small hamlet Heballi in Bagalkot District to Balavva and Chandanagouda Gaddigoudar. He graduated in the faculty of Arts from Basveshwar Arts College at Bagalkot affiliated to the Karnatak University. Later,he completed his bachelor's degree in Law from the prestigious Raja Lakhamagouda College of Belgaum.
He married Savitra Devi on 6 February 1976 and continued to practice law at Badami. [1]
He started his public life in the early 1980s and his major boost came when he was appointed by the then chief minister of Karnataka,Ramakrishna Hegde in 1987 as chairman of the committee to study the reorganisation of districts. [2] The report was implemented by J.H. Patel in 1997-98. He is considered instrumental in the creation of Bagalkot district,which was created after separating it from Bijapur. Parvatagouda Gaddigoudar was nominated to The Legislative Council of Karnataka in 1988. However,in 1994,he was unable to secure ticket from Janata Dal and contested the elections to the Assembly as an independent candidate.
Just before the elections for the 14th Lok Sabha,Gaddigoudar had denied allegations that he would be leaving All India Progressive Janata Dal (a splinter group of Janata Dal with allegiance to Ramakrishna Hegde) to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. [3] However just before the elections,he did join the Bharatiya Janata Party with his followers and got the party's nomination from Bagalkot Lok Sabha Constituency. He entered the 14th Lok Sabha by securing 459,451 votes while his nearest rival,R.S. Patil of Indian National Congress,secured 292,068. [4]
Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda is an Indian politician who served as the 11th prime minister of India from 1 June 1996 to 21 April 1997. He was previously the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996. He presently is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Karnataka. He is the national president of the Janata Dal (Secular) party. Born in a farming family, he joined the Indian National Congress party in 1953, and remained a member until 1962. He was imprisoned during the Emergency. He became President of the state unit of Janata Dal in 1994, and was considered to be a driving force in the party's victory in Karnataka. He served as the 8th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996. In the 1996 general elections, no party won enough seats to form a government. When the United Front, a coalition of regional parties, formed the central government with the support of the Congress, Deve Gowda was unexpectedly chosen to head the government and was elected Prime Minister. During his tenure as prime minister, he also served as Home Minister for some time. His prime ministerial tenure lasted for less than a year. After his prime ministerial tenure, he was elected to the 12th (1998), 14th (2004), 15th, and 16th Lok Sabha, as Member of Parliament for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. He lost Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from Tumkuru but has been elected to Rajya Sabha since.

Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi is an Indian politician from Karnataka and currently a member of Lok Sabha. He was Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation in 2016. He was member of the Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth and Sixteenth Lok Sabha. He was inducted into PM, Narendra Modi's government as a Minister of State for Drinking Water & Sanitation on July 5, 2016. He represents the Bijapur constituency (2019-2024) and is currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party which he joined in 2002. He has also been a member of Janata Dal and Ramakrishna Hegde's Vedike Party and Ram Vilas Paswan's Jan Shakti Party in 2001 when Hegde was planning to retire.
Rajesh Verma is an Indian politician, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Loksabha Member of Parliament. He was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999, the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004, the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 and the 17th Lok Sabha in 2019 from Sitapur constituency in Uttar Pradesh state. In 2019 he won his fourth 4th election in Sitapur as a BJP candidate by 101,000 votes. He lost his Loksabha MP seats in 2024 Indian General Election from Sitapur.

Veerendra Basappa Patil was a senior Indian politician and was twice, the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He became Chief Minister for the first time from 1968–1971 and the second time was almost 18 years later, from 1989–1990.
General elections were held in India on 3 and 6 January 1980 to elect the members of the 7th Lok Sabha.
