Career

P. D. Sathish Chandra worked for The Hindu before working on the founding team of Red FM in Bangalore. He worked for Red RM for eighteen months and helped found the Gulbarga, Mangalore and Mysore stations. [4] He worked as the programming head for Radio Mirchi 98.3 Bangalore. [5] He gained recognition for his role as Pandu in Panduranga Vittala on Zee Kannada, which ran for five years with 1,336 episodes. [6] [7] He hosted the spoof TV shot Vaaranna on Public TV. [6] He works as a mentor for the Kala Soudha theatre space in Bangalore. [7] He founded the performing arts organization Pradarshana Kala Samsthe. [8] His first major film role was the villain in the Malayalam film Kutty Srank (2010). [4] During the COVID-19 pandemic, he made a video book along with fifty-one other actors. [9] He is a frequent actor in M. G. Srinivas's films and played a steampunk-esque character Time in Old Monk (2022). [10]

Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. Sharapanjara is a 1971 Indian Kannada language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal, based on a novel by Triveni of the same name, and starring Kalpana and Gangadhar in lead roles. This film is considered one of the best Kannada movies ever made. Triveni's novel was richly visual and Puttanna not only stayed faithful to the novel on screen but also retained most of the novel's dialogues and credited Triveni for them.

Sharatchandra Lohithaswa, known popularly as Sharath Lohithaswa, is an Indian actor who works predominately in Kannada cinema alongside some Tamil films. He has had a successful career in theatre, where he continues to work, and television. After working as a lecturer for a brief period, Sharath took to acting as a full-time profession and worked on stage following the footsteps of his father Lohithaswa. He began working in films in 1995 and has today established himself as a character actor.

Old Monk is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by M. G. Srinivas. The film features MG Srinivas, Aditi Prabhudeva in lead role. The film's title was inspired from the popular alcohol beverage brand, but it also means "Hale Sanyasi" in Kannada. Veteran actor Rajesh, made a special cameo appearance in the film. The film was released on February 25, 2022 simultaneously in the Kannada and Telugu languages.
