P.V. Anvar is an Indian politician and businessman,the current MLA of Nilambur,Kerala.
P. V. Anvar was born in Malappuram district on 26 May 1967,the fourth son of P. V. Shoukath Ali and Mariyumma. Puthanveettil family is one of the ancient families of Malabar which was very close to the Indian National Congress from the great struggle for independence on. Anvar completed his schooling at Malabar Christian College School,Kozhikkode,and moved to MES Mampad College where he did his graduation in Economics. He was the college union chairman during his period. After his studies,as an entrepreneur he started PeeVeeaaR Crushers which has grown into one of the prominent crushers in Malabar. He contested from Ernad Constituency as an independent candidate and came second in the run in the assembly elections in 2011.
P. V. Anvar's family was followers of Indian National Congress (INC). So he was also attracted by the same ideology. He was the college union chairman,and a representative of KSU,the student wing of INC,during his MES Mampad College life. He contested from Ernad constituency as an independent candidate in the assembly elections 2011. In 2014 Lok Sabha election,he contested as an independent candidate in Wayanad constituency.
In the 2016 Assembly elections,Anvar contested as a Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate and elected from Nilambur constituency,defeating Aryadan Shoukath of Congress. In 2019 Lok Sabha election,he contested as LDF candidate from Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2021 Assembly elections,Anvar again contested as LDF candidate and election from Nilambur constituency,defeating V. V. Prakash of Congress.
As a businessman and politician,P. V. Anvar ended up in lot of controversies. He has been accused of land encroachment and illegal constructions.
In May 2018,a probe report by Kozhikode district administration accused P. V. Anvar of illegal construction at his theme park in Kakkadampoyil. Kozhikode District Collector P. V. Thomas accused Anvar of carrying out unauthorised construction at the theme park. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority issued a stop memo to the park in June 2018,due to illegal construction. Revenue department ordered to demolish the illegal check dam constructed by P. V. Anvar for the water theme park. Anvar objected to it and moved to court against the order. But in April 2019,the High Court ordered immediate demolition of the illegal check dam. [1] [2] [3] It has been claimed that the illegal constructions done by P. V. Anvar accentuated the vagaries caused due to Kerala Floods 2018. [4]
In April 2019,Anvar accused the Communist Party of India (CPI),whose ministers held the Revenue and Forest departments in Kerala Government,of trying to destroy his business ventures,by taking legal actions against his water theme Park. CPI protested strongly against his remarks. [5]
In February 2021,there was huge social media uproar against an Africa visit of P. V. Anvar. A section of netizens came out flooding the comment section of President of Ghana,Nana Akufo-Addo's Facebook page with sarcastic meme demanding release of P. V. Anvar from Ghana jail. [6] [7] Later P. V. Anvar came out with a clarification in social media that he is at Sierra Leone for business activities. [8]
Malappuram,is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala,with a coastline of 70 km (43 mi). The most populous district of Kerala,Malappuram is home to around 13% of the total population of the state. The district was formed on 16 June 1969,spanning an area of about 3,554 km2 (1,372 sq mi). Nilambur is a major town,a municipality and a Taluk in the Malappuram district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located close to the Nilgiris range of the Western Ghats on the banks of the Chaliyar River. This place is also known as 'Teak Town' because of the abundance of Nilambur teaks in this area;Which is a variety of a large,deciduous tree that occurs in mixed hardwood forests. Unlike many Municipalities of India;Nilambur is covered with large amounts of vegetation making it close to nature and hence make it very scenic and inspiring.

Most people are engaged in agriculture and business activities. Hindus,Christians and Muslims co-exist in harmony adding to the diversity in faith and religion. The land is famous for football. The land where Asif Zahir Mampad Rahman played. He contributed a lot to the Malappuram district.
Pulikkal Veettil Abdul Wahab is an Indian politician and social worker from Nilambur,Malappuram. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament from Kerala in the Rajya Sabha . He is also a non-resident Indian businessman with activities in India and the Middle East.
Kannoth Muraleedharan is an Indian National Congress politician and MP from Vatakara,Kerala. He is the son of Congress leader K. Karunakaran. He was elected as an MP from Kozhikode constituency and from Vatakara constituency (2019). He was elected as an MLA from Vattiyoorkkavu constituency.
Eranad also known as Ernad refers to the erstwhile province in the midland area of Malabar,consisting of Malappuram and nearby regions such as Anakkayam,Manjeri,Kondotty,Nilambur,etc. Currently Eranad Taluk is a Taluk in Malappuram district. Eranad was ruled by a Samanthan Nair clan known as Eradis,similar to the Vellodis of neighbouring Valluvanad and Nedungadis of Nedunganad. The rulers of Eranad were known by the title Eralppad/Eradi. They also used the title Thirumulpad.
The thirteenth Kerala legislative assembly election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members representing 140 constituencies in Kerala. Election results were released on 13 May 2011. K. M. Shaji is an Indian politician belonging to the Indian Union Muslim League. He is the president of Muslim Youth League in Kerala,a secretariat member of the League,and the treasurer of the Muslim League parliamentary party.

South Malabar refers to a geographical area of the southwestern coast of India covering some parts of the present-day Kerala state. South Malabar covers the regions included in present-day Kozhikode taluk of Kozhikode district,the whole area of Malappuram district,Chavakkad taluk of Thrissur district,and Palakkad district,excluding parts of Chittur taluk. The Fort Kochi region of Kochi city also historically belongs to South Malabar. The term South Malabar refers to the region of the erstwhile Malabar District south to the river Korapuzha,and bears a high cultural similarity to both the Cochin and the North Malabar regions.
Elections to local bodies in Kerala were held in December 2020. Polling took place over 3 days;on 8,10 and 14 December,with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December.
K. K. Rema is an activist-turned-politician associated with the Revolutionary Marxist Party of India. She is the widow of Revolutionary Marxist Party founder late T. P. Chandrasekharan. She has contested from Vadakara constituency in Kerala during the state assembly elections of 2021 and won with a margin of 7491 votes.
