District 10 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) is an interscholastic athletic association in Northwest Pennsylvania. District 10 is one of the PIAA's 12 athletic conferences and comprises high schools in Erie, Pennsylvania and surrounding counties to the south and east. Member schools are classified by enrollment into four categories based on the number of students: A, AA, AAA, AAAA. District 10 is commonly referred to as "D-10" and is sometimes notated with the Roman Numeral "X".
The league is made up of 50 public schools and private schools located in Crawford, Erie, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties. [1]

District 10 hosts thirteen sports over three athletic seasons: fall, winter and spring. Several D-10 teams also compete in bowling, hockey, lacrosse and water polo, but are in leagues that are not a part of the PIAA.

Winter: Swimming & Diving, Wrestling, Basketball

In 2011, the Erie Times News created the Varsity Cup to be awarded to the highest-performing athletic program in District 10. [8]
Mercer County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 110,652. Its county seat is Mercer, and its largest city is Hermitage.
Linesville is a borough in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 961 at the 2020 census, down from 987 at the 2019 census. The town derives its name from its founders, who included William Line, who migrated from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, circa the early 1820s, and his relative, Amos Line, who was the town's surveyor and main proprietor. Amos Line "penetrated the western Pennsylvania wilderness as a member of the Pennsylvania Population Company in the early 1800s."
Hermitage is a city in western Mercer County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 16,230 at the 2020 census, making it the largest city in Mercer County. It is located about 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Youngstown and about 60 miles (97 km) northwest of Pittsburgh. It is the principal city of the Hermitage micropolitan area, which includes all of Mercer County.
North Allegheny Senior High School (NASH) is a suburban high school in the North Allegheny School District and is located in Wexford, Pennsylvania, a northern suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The current building was built in 1974. In 2013, enrollment was 1,277 pupils in grades 11th and 12th, with 3% of pupils from a low income home. In 2013, North Allegheny Senior High School employed 98 teachers. The feeder school is North Allegheny Intermediate High School which provides grades 9th and 10th.

Gateway School District encompasses approximately 19 square miles (49 km2). Per the 2000 federal census data, the Gateway School District serves a resident population of 33,038. Pennsylvania Route 18 is a major north–south highway in Western Pennsylvania whose southern terminus is at West Virginia Route 69 at the state line in Greene County near the village of Garrison, while the northern terminus is at PA 5 in Lake City. At a length of 205 miles (330 km), PA 18 is the only state route in Pennsylvania — north–south or east–west — to traverse the entire state. Sox Harrison Stadium is a stadium in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, on the campus of Pennsylvania Western University Edinboro. It is home to the Edinboro Fighting Scots of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The stadium is named for B. Regis "Sox" Harrison, who served as the head football coach at Edinboro from 1926 to 1938 and 1941-42 before being inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame. The stadium was officially opened in 1965.
The Burger King Basketball Classic, formerly known as the McDonald's Classic from 1983 to 2010, is a four-team boys high school basketball invitational tournament held each year since 1983 in Erie, Pennsylvania.
As of the 2022-2023 and the 2023-2024 school years, there are 555 high school football teams competing in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's (PIAA)12 Districts. Each district is divided into numerous leagues and conferences, with an upgrade of the class rankings. Up until the end of the 2016 school year, there were only four class rankings, ranging from Class A to Class AAAA. At the beginning of the PIAA 2016-17 school year, however, the PIAA added two additional class rankings, making six total.

The 1990 Allegheny Gators football team was an American football team that represented Allegheny College in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) during the 1990 NCAA Division III football season. The Gators compiled a 13–0–1 record, outscored opponents by a total of 442 to 171, and won the NCAC and NCAA Division III championships.
