History

PWA Black Label was founded in 2007 by Ryan Eagles and Madison Eagles.

2007 PWA announced the launch of The Professional Wrestling Academy in Ingleburn, New South Wales. [3]

PWA Black Label was called Professional Wrestling Alliance from 2007-2015 and Pro Wrestling Australia from 2015-2018.

After Ryan Eagles left the company in 2015, Jack Bonza became the new co-owner.

In 2007 PWA stared Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance a all-Women's professional wrestling promotion for the PWWA Championship. PWWA ran from 2007 until around 2013 when the last recorded all women's event was held. It was the only all women's wrestling promotion in Australia.

Newcastle Pro Wrestling also owned by Jack Bonza and PWA have had a close working relationship since 2011. [4]

They also had affiliations with Global Force Wrestling of the United States while the latter was active. [5] [6]

Since 2015, PWA have supported the Lucha Fantastica brand by providing talent, assets and cross-promotion for quarterly Mexican themed events held at The Factory Theatre in Marrickville, as well as private corporate gigs, promotional events and music festivals such as the Big Day Out, Future Music Festival and the Beer Footy & Food Festival. [7] [8]

Up until 2017 PWA to presented a more mature product, targeting an 18+ demographic under the PWA Black Label banner. [9] [10]

In April 2018, Progress Wrestling co-promoted a show with Australian independent professional wrestling promotions Explosive Pro Wrestling, Melbourne City Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Australia. [11] [12]
