Paikhel is a town and union council, an administrative subdivision, of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. [1] It is part of Mianwali Tehsil. [2]

Demographics

The Pai khel is a town of [3] and Niazi Pathan tribes.[ clarification needed ] [4] The people of that tribes live in Paikhel town.

Hospitality and graceful conduct are a hallmark of the area. Majority of young people are in armed forces.

The Pai khel niazi tribe sub-branches are Fathe Khan Khel, Nawab Khel, Raju Khel, Chanan Khel, Kibi Khel. Haji Ikramullah Khan Late (Ex-Provincial ministers of Punjab) belonged to Pai Khel tribe. [5]

In Pai Khel some Awan/Jat tribes also settled, including Bajwa clan, Umer khel, Khanu Khel, Wirali, Misri Khel etc.

History

The Pai khel Niazi tribe's forefather was Pai Khan Niazi. He had three brothers. His descendants were known as Sultan Khel, Bori Khan as Bori Khel and other was Gul Khan as Golay Khel who lived at Golewali.

The Pai khel tribe settled in its current location earlier in the 18th century. Like other Niazi tribes, they participated in the Third Battle of Panipat under the flag of Ahmad Shah Durrani. The tribe pursued a vendetta against the neighbored Niazi tribes. The rivalry with Taja Khel tribe is famous in local culture.

Chakrala, is a village located in the Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Chakrala is also a Union Council, of Mianwali Tehsil. Chakrala is the oldest and the largest village a seat of Hindu Tribe Chikar, of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It was captured by Local Muslims in the 13th century by the aid of invaders from the North-western tribes. Chakrala is located 10 miles (16 km) away from the Mianwali Talagang road at 32°6'0N 72°22'0E]. The area has been predominantly inhabited by Awan tribes for the last six centuries. During 13th century Sadar karabogha Khan head of Khattaks along with Niazi and Awan tribes conquered the area's at the west Bank of river Indus. Awan had their first settlement in Kohat and Mianwali areas. Later during 16th century these advanced towards eastern side of Indus river including Attock, Chakwal, Shah pur and Sargodha and many Awan clan shifted to new settlement. Chakrala is the birthplace of lance naik Sher Shah Awan VC. Chakrala village is part of Awankari Region. Awankari is an exclusive area of Awan tirbe between Mianwali, Attack, Chakwal, Khushab and Jhelum Districts. Awankari is also dialect of Awan tribe of Awankari Region.

Kharota Khel . Kharota Khel has no relationship with Kharotis. The Kharotas are a subtribe of Pathan Sumeen. The Tribesmen live in Deli Namdar, Tehsil Kalurkot, Bhakkar District, in the Punjab. The Tribe has land holdings in Bhakkar District.

Isakhel is a town of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The town is the headquarters of Isakhel Tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the district.

Kundian, is the 2nd largest city of District Mianwali, tehsil Piplan in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Its population is near 50,000. This is divided into Kundian Katcha & Pacca units with total population of 150,000. Kundian Jn. railway station start operation in August 1887.

Khaglan Wala (ڪھگلانواله) is a village and union council of Isakhel Tehsil of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is part of Isa Khel Tehsil and is located at 32°37'60N 71°16'0E. Located on the northern bank of Kurram River, it is one of the villages situated on the western borders of Punjab province adjacent to KPK province. Its population is about 3000 people. This is comparatively a developed village. Basic facilities like electricity, telephone, metalled road, internet, schools, water supply system and sewerage system are provided to the inhabitants of this village. It is also a well-planned village situated on a 40 feet wide metalled road. A 30' wide main street runs east to west through the village, equally dividing the entire village into two parts. Three other streets run north to south crossing the main street at 90°. There are four mosques i.e Grand Mosque, Masjid Naurang Khel, Masjid Khizar Khel in Mohalla Khizar Khel and Masjid Abadi Tajpora in this settlement. The scene of river Kurram alongside bela jungle provides beautiful look to this historical village. Khaglanwala is hub of different routes coming from various villages situated on other side of the River Kurram, to reach Isa Khel city.

Trag is a village and Union Council of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is in Isakhel tehsil, and is one of the populated villages in the Mianwali District. Many seasonal rivers passes through the area during monsoon season which collect the water from slopes of Koh-e-Suleman. Water from these rivers flow towards the Indus river and can over flow damaging Trag. Three seasonal rivers are named Raka, Lunda and Baroch.

Rikhi (رِکھی) is a village of Punjab, Pakistan, situated on Mianwali-Rawalpindi road, on the northern side of Namal Lake. Rikhi is at a distance of 32 kilometers from Mianwali city. The name Rikhi originated from the name of Mountain Stream Rikhi which starts from salt range usually during rainy season and coming down, passing through village rikhi and then it goes to Namal lake. Previously it was called Trikhi meaning Fast Due to its Fast flow. But Later on, it changed from Trikhi to Rikhi. The people started living in Rikhi area after Shifting of population of Nammal Village. The nammal village was exactly at same place where now Nammal lake exist. During British rule,in 1913 when nammal lake was given shape of Lake and nammal Dam was Constructed, then people living there shifted to surrounding areas like Rikhi, Kalri etc. This village is part of Moza Kalri. Rikhi is part of Union Council Thamewali. Police station for Rikhi is in Chakrala. Historical Nala Rikhi still flows in the mid of the Rikhi Village during Rainy Season and enhances the beauty of the village.
