The Pakistan Media Awards, commonly known as The PMA, These are a set of awards given annually for radio, TV, film, and theatre achievements. The award is a statuette representing a knight with a star on the chest. Its official name is the Pakistan Media Award of Merit.

The awards were was founded in 2010 and first given in 2010. PMA focuses on media achievements including all the occupations that come under media. In the television category, awards are awarded in talk shows, news channels, reality programs, dramas, sitcoms, daily soaps, and the fashion industry. Awards also acknowledge the efforts of artists in films, radio, and especially the theatre industry, which the PMA endeavor to revive through this platform.

The 3rd Pakistan Media Awards were held on 30 November 2012 at Expo Centre in Karachi, Sindh. Previously the 4th Pakistan Media Awards were scheduled on 28 December 2013, but due to overwhelming amounts of online votings and persistent requests of voters, the ceremony was rescheduled for 11 January 2014 at the Expo Center, Karachi. History

The first formal ceremony was held on 7th April 2010 at Karachi Carlton Hotel. Awards were presented in four categories: TV, Film, Radio and Theatre. Organizer and C.E.O of PMA Arshad Siddiqui said that the purpose behind the event was to re-live the Pakistani film industry. He said though he and other private sector were trying to play their level best the cold behavior of government was quite illogical. [3]

The 1st Pakistan Media Awards was held in 2010. [4] The 2nd Pakistan Media Awards was held on 7 May 2011 at Carlton Hotel, Karachi. Awards hosts were Faisal Qureshi and Aijaz Aslam., [5] The 3rd Pakistan Media Awards was held on 30 November 2012 in Karachi. [6]

Notes:

  1. Due to city fragile and unarmed circumstances, Triple-E on security grounds rescheduled and extend the 3rd award ceremony date.
  2. Due to Overwhelming response from the public on online votings for the public poll of selected online nominations, Triple-E shift the date of Ceremony in year 2014, as per the high demand of public to extend the voting days for nominations, but, awards will be awarded for cinematic or media year of 2012.

The 2nd Hum Awards ceremony, presented by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC), sponsored by Servis and Telenor Talkshawlk, honored the best in fashion, music and Hum Television Dramas of 2013. The ceremony took place on 29 March 2014 at Expo Center in Karachi, Sindh beginning at 7:30 PST. The ceremony was recorded and was broadcast on 25 May 2014. During the ceremony, Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel presented awards in 29 regular categories along with 2 in honorary and 1 in special category. The ceremony was televised in Pakistan by Hum TV, while Servis returned as a main sponsor of the show.

Hum Awards are annual Pakistani accolades bestowed by the Hum Network Limited in recognition of excellence in programming of television, fashion and music industry of Pakistan. Winners are awarded the Hum Award of Merit. The awards were first presented in 2013 at a ceremony held at the Karachi Expo Centre.

The Hum Award for Best Music Video is one of the Hum Awards presented annually by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC) to Music video director working within the Music industry. Since its inception, however, the award has commonly been referred to as the hum for Best Music Video. The awards, first presented in 2014 at Golf Club, Karachi, are overseen and organized by ARY Digital Network and Entertainment Channel. ARY Film Awards became an electoral race to the trophy to best film in any category, as per being the first awarding ceremony of reboot era of Pakistani Film Industry. The Hum Award for Best Drama Serial Viewers Choice or Popular is one of the Hum Awards of Merit presented annually by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC) to producers working in the drama industry. Best Drama Serial Viewers Choice/Popular is considered the most important of the Hum Awards, as it represents all the directing, acting, music composing, writing, editing and other efforts put forth into a drama. The nominations are selected by Hum membership as a whole while winners are selected by Online voting of Public thus called Viewers Choice or Popular. The ceremony, televised in Pakistan by ARY Digital and was produced by ARY Digital Network chairman Salman Iqbal. ARY Film Awards became the most expensive event held in Pakistan.
