Panchakshari is a 2010 Indian Telugu-language fantasy film starring Anushka Shetty. It was directed by V. Samudra and released on 11 June 2010. [1] [2] It is dubbed in Kannada in same name, in Tamil as Panchamukhi and in Hindi as Vaishnavi.
Udayshankar Verma and his pregnant wife, Parvati, give birth to a baby girl near a temple of Goddess Durga in a rural village. The Priest names the child Panchakshari. Since she was born on a day and time considered auspicious to Goddess Durga, she is treated as a divine personality by the people of her village. She grows up to be revered by the villagers and is subsequently married to an orphan, Sriram/Rajesh Sharma. After some time the couple becomes parents to a baby girl and name her Reshmi. During the holy festival of Bonalu, Panchakshari is possessed by Goddess Durga, who predicts that Panchakshari is going to die suddenly. The prophecy comes true as Panchakshari is immediately engulfed by fire, shattering the villagers and rendering Reshmi unconscious.
While in the city, Sriram comes across Panchakshri's look-alike, Honey, an ultra modern city girl from a rich family. He follows her around, videotaping her movements, which earns the dislike of Honey. But she understands the truth behind his act when Sriram tells her about Panchakshari. To make Reshmi gain her consciousness back, Sriram brings Honey to her. Honey visits the village, where she discovers that she and Panchakshari are actually cousins.
Later on, it is revealed that Panchakshari was killed in order to close and make people stay away from the temple to execute the villain's plan of digging the treasure. Honey goes to the Temple where Panchakshari died. Honey is possessed by Panchakshari, who scares the diggers away and paralyses the villain's wife. The villain's team try to get Panchakshari's spirit out of Honey's body with the help of an evil tantric sadhu, but fail. They also terrorise the villagers who pray to Goddess Durga to save them. Eventually the Goddess Herself comes into Panchakshari and kills the villain. The villagers rush to the spot to get the blessings of the Great Goddess. As she blesses everyone, she leaves the body of Panchakshari. And later, Panchakshari is out of Honey's body and her soul finally finds peace.

Kumari, Kumari Devi, or the Living Goddess is the tradition of worshipping a chosen virgin as manifestations of the divine female energy or Shakti in Dharmic Nepali religious traditions. It is believed that the girl is possessed by the goddess Taleju or Durga. The word Kumari is derived from Tamil "குமரி" meaning Young girl. The procession is akin to Indra or Sakra, taking Indrani to his celestial abode as his bride. The festival is celebrated during Kumari Jatra, which follows the Indra Jatra religious ceremony.
Bombay to Goa is a 1972 Indian Hindi-language road comedy film directed by S. Ramanathan and produced by Mehmood and N. C. Sippy. Released in India on 3 March 1972, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aruna Irani, Shatrughan Sinha, Nazir Hussain, Mehmood and Anwar Ali in lead roles. The film is known particularly for its catchy tunes and was a "superhit" at the box office. The film is a remake of a 1966 hit Tamil film Madras to Pondicherry and was an inspiration for the 2004 Marathi movie Navra Maza Navsacha which in turn was remade in Kannada in 2007 as Ekadantha. The Hindu had reported that Rajiv Gandhi was offered the lead role by Mehmood but he had turned it down.
Yakeen is an Indian film directed by Brij Sadanah released in 1969. The movie stars Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore. Dharmendra appears in a double role where one character plays the role of villain in the movie. The supporting cast includes David and M. B. Shetty. The music composed is by Shankar Jaikishan.

Veera: An Arrow Head of Action is a 2011 Telugu-language action comedy film, produced by Ganesh Indukuri under Sanvi Productions banner and directed by Ramesh Varma. It stars Ravi Teja, Kajal Aggarwal, and Taapsee Pannu, with music composed by S. Thaman. The cinematography was performed by Chota K. Naidu, and the film was released on 20 May 2011. The film had completed 50 days in 60 centres and a 100-day run at the box office according to Zee 24 Gantalu. The film was released in Tamil as Veeraiyaah, in Hindi as The Great Veera in 2012, in Malayalam as Veera in 2017, and also in Bhojpuri as Veera. In 2021, Manish Shah from Goldmines Telefilms dubbed the movie in Hindustani under the same name.
Jaag Utha Insan is a 1984 Indian Hindi-language film directed by K. Viswanath, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Sridevi, Rakesh Roshan, Deven Verma, J V Somayajulu Sujit Kumar and music composed by Rajesh Roshan. It is the Hindi version of Viswanath's 1981 Telugu film Saptapadi. It is a love story between a Dalit boy and a Brahmin Girl, played by Mithun Chakraborty and Sridevi respectively in the lead roles, supported by Rakesh Roshan, J V Somayajulu Deven Verma, Sujit Kumar. The cinematographer P.L. Raj won the Filmfare Award for best cinematography. Film expert Rajesh Subramanian reveals that Jaya Prada was the first choice but since her dates were committed and clashed with Prakash Mehra's Sharaabi, Sridevi was signed to play the female lead.
Aasoo Bane Angaarey is a 1993 Hindi-language drama film, produced by Jatti K. Varma under the Paramount Pictures banner and directed by Mehul Kumar. It stars Jeetendra, Madhuri Dixit, Deepak Tijori and music composed by Rajesh Roshan. Madhuri Dixit played a double role as both mother and daughter and her performance was appreciated; despite the film not being a commercial success. Dixit played a similar mother and daughter double role a year earlier in Sangeet; her performance in that film was also acclaimed.
Himmatwala is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film written and directed by Sajid Khan and jointly produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani. The film stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. Set in 1983, it is an official remake of the 1983 film of the same name by K. Raghavendra Rao, which was, in turn, a remake of the 1981 Telugu film Ooruki Monagadu. Anushka Shetty is an Indian actress who appears in Telugu and Tamil films. She is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential actress in the history of Telugu cinema and popularly addressed as Lady Superstar of Indian Cinema. She made her acting debut in Puri Jagannadh's 2005 Telugu film Super, and appeared in Mahanandi, released later the same year. The following year, she had four releases, the first being S. S. Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu, which helped her gain recognition, followed by Astram, the Sundar C-directed Rendu,, and a special appearance in AR Murugadoss' Telugu film Stalin. She had two releases in 2007: Lakshyam and Don. In 2008, she appeared in six films, including Okka Magaadu, Swagatam and Souryam. In 2009, Shetty played two roles in the fantasy Arundhati. She went on to win the Nandi Special Jury Award and the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for this film. Her next release that year was Billa, a Telugu remake of the 2007 Tamil film of the same name. Her final release in 2009 was her second Tamil feature film, the masala film Vettaikaaran, where she appeared as a medical student.
Jayam is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language horror film directed and produced by the duo Ravi-Raja, making their directorial debut. The film stars Sangita, Mansoor Ali Khan, Ishaq Hussaini and Vichithra, with Bhavana, Ragul, Rocky, Karikalan, Shanmugasundaram and Vadivukkarasi playing supporting roles. It was released on 15 October 1999.
Durga Durgeshwari is an Indian Bengali-language television soap opera, a sequel /reboot version of the popular series Durga. It follows the journey of Dugga who has to vanquish the Evil with the blessings of Maa Durgeshwari. The show stars Sampurna Mondal and Bishwarup Bandyopadhyay as protagonists, where as Ankita Majhi and Swagata Mukherjee as antagonists. It premiered on 2 September 2019 on Bengali GEC Star Jalsha. The series was aired every day at 6:30pm. The show took Guriya Jekhane Guddu Sekhane's time slot before being replaced by Titli. Before ending, a new storyline was introduced with new protagonists but failed to gain good trp unlike the prequel.
