Panic is the third studio album by American rock band From Ashes to New. It was released on August 28, 2020. The first single, "Panic", released ahead of the album in April 2020, and has since peaked in the top 20 of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
Writing and recording for the album took place across 2019. [4] Contrary to prior albums, the recording sessions feature the exact same lineup as their prior album, band members appreciated, with lineup changes and departures plaguing the band for years prior. [5] [6] The band chose to work with music producer Colin Brittain on the album; the band had previously worked with Brittain on a single song, "Nowhere to Run", on their prior album The Future (2018), and been happy with the results, and wished to collaborate with him for an entire album this time around. [5] The band additionally chose to work with producer Erik Ron on two tracks, first single "Panic" and "Wait for Me", liking the "dynamic style" Ron had brought to Godsmack's When Legends Rise (2018) album. Three songs were released prior to the album's release. In April 2020, the band released their first single, "Panic", along with an accompanying music video. [7] The video, created during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, was barely finished before the quarantine and shutdown of the state of New York, where it was filmed. [7] [4] A second song, "What I Get", was released on June 5, 2020. [2] A third song, "Scars That I'm Hiding", was released on August 3, 2020. [3] A version of the song featuring guest vocals by In Flames vocalist Anders Friden will appear on the soundtrack for the feature film The Retaliators , while the album version will not feature the guest vocals. The album's sound was compared to the earlier work of Linkin Park. [6] The track "Panic" was originally written as a song just generally about dealing with anxiety and depression, but retroactively was interpreted as being about dealing with COVID-19 pandemic due to the timing of its release. [10] "What I Get" was described as "melodic alternative rock". [2]
Wall of Sound praised the album, comparing the album's sound to Linkin Park, concluding that "...it must be super hard to be frequently compared to such a huge music icon like Linkin Park but From Ashes to New do a great job in pulling it off. They've added heavy metal and innovative electronic components to make it their own fresh sound, creating a record that should not only be a big hit now, but a big hit for years to come." [6]

Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist/rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn, bassist Dave Farrell, co-lead vocalist Emily Armstrong, and drummer Colin Brittain. The lineup for the band's first seven studio albums included lead vocalist Chester Bennington and drummer Rob Bourdon; following Bennington's death by suicide in July 2017, the band entered an indefinite hiatus. In September 2024, Linkin Park's reformation was announced along with the addition of Armstrong and Brittain.
Whoracle is the third studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames, released on 18 November 1997. The title of the album is a portmanteau of the English words "whore" and "oracle".
Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneering acts of the Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates - regarded as the Gothenburg fathers in the film entitled Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary released by Century Media, which was filmed in their home town in April 2009. Katatonia is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. The band started as a studio-only project for the duo, as an outlet for the band's love of death metal. Increasing popularity led them to add more band members for live performances, though outside of the band's founders, the lineup was a constantly changing, revolving door of musicians throughout the 1990s, notably including Mikael Åkerfeldt of the band Opeth for a period. After two death/doom albums, Dance of December Souls (1993) and Brave Murder Day (1996), problems with Renkse's vocal cords coupled with new musical influences led the band away from the screamed vocals of death metal to a more traditional, melodic form of heavy metal music.
Pär Anders Fridén is a Swedish vocalist, best known as the lead singer of the melodic death metal band In Flames. He was also the vocalist of Dark Tranquillity and side project Passenger.
Clas Håkan Jesper Strömblad is a Swedish musician who is the guitarist of the bands The Halo Effect, Dimension Zero and Cyhra, and formerly of In Flames and The Resistance. He is best known as the founder and former guitarist/drummer/keyboardist of the pioneering melodic death metal band In Flames, guitarist of the band Sinergy, bassist of Ceremonial Oath and drummer of HammerFall. In 2013, he joined MDM band Nightrage as a session guitarist.

From Ashes to New is an American rock band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band's lineup frequently shifted in its early years, with musician Matt Brandyberry being the founding and sole constant member of the group. Sounds from the Heart of Gothenburg is the second live album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames. It was filmed on 8 November 2014 in front of a sold-out venue of 10,000 fans, right inside the Scandinavium in the band's hometown Gothenburg, Sweden. The concert was directed by Patric Ullaeus. It is the last release to feature long time drummer Daniel Svensson who left the band in 2015.

It is the first studio album by the band after the departure of lead vocalist Chris Musser and drummer Tim D'Onofrio, introducing Danny Case and Mat Madiro as the new vocalist and drummer. Foregone is the fourteenth studio album by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames. The album was released on 10 February 2023 through Nuclear Blast and was produced by Howard Benson. It is the first album by the band to feature guitarist Chris Broderick who replaced Niclas Engelin and the first to entirely feature drums performed by Tanner Wayne. It is also the last album to feature the band's bassist Bryce Paul before he left the band in June 2023.
