He has also worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. He is one of the highest paid actors of Kannada Cinema and is one of the first Kannada actors to be listed in the Forbes list of top 100 celebrities of India since 2013. He has received several awards including four Filmfare Awards South and one Karnataka state award

The music of the film was launched on 4 April 2008. The movie was released on 16 May 2008 in India. It was released in the United States and in Toronto on 30 November 2008. The movie was remade in Bengali as Achena Prem which released on 8 July 2011.

Rajathandhiram is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language heist thriller film written and directed by debutant A. G. Amid and jointly produced by Sunland Cinemas and White Bucket Productions. Fox Star Studios acquired the distribution rights of the film. The film stars Veera and Regina Cassandra. Sandeep Chowta composed the film score while G. V. Prakash Kumar had composed a promo song, cinematography handled by S. R. Kathir, film edited by Praveen Antony, production designed by Videsh and action sequences designed and choreographed by Stunt Silva The film released on 13 March 2015. On 13 March 2016, the team announced the launch of its sequel Rajathandhiram 2 with a first six-minute video clip on YouTube. The film was remade in Kannada as Panta (2017).

Mungaru Male 2 is a 2016 Indian Kannada romantic drama film co-written and directed by Shashank. It stars Ganesh, Neha Shetty, V. Ravichandran, and Aindrita Ray. The supporting cast features P. Ravi Shankar and Sadhu Kokila. Although not a sequel, the film's title came as the second installment to the film Mungaru Male (2006). The film found its theatrical release worldwide on 9 September 2016, while in Karnataka, the release was pushed to 10 September 2016 because of the Cauvery water dispute. It was a commercial success at the box office by collecting over ₹20 crore in its lifetime theatrical run.
