Pavel is an Indian film director and screenplay writer who primarily works in Bengali-language films. [1] He made his debut with the film Babar Naam Gandhiji , which was followed by Rosogolla. His next film, Asur , was released on 3 January 2020, [2] [3] with Jeet, Abir Chatterjee and Nusrat Jahan. [4]

Shotru(Bengali: শত্রু ; English: Enemy) is a 2011 Indian Bengali-language action thriller film directed by Raj Chakraborty. The film was produced by Ashok Dhanuka under the banner of Eskay Movies. It stars Jeet, Supriyo Dutta and Nusrat Jahan in lead roles, while Kharaj Mukherjee, Dipankar De, Biswajit Chakraborty, Saayoni Ghosh, Raja Dutta and Biplab Chatterjee played other pivotal roles. It marks the debut of Nusrat Jahan. The soundtrack and background score was composed by Indraadip Dasgupta, with screenplay and dialogues written by Padmanabha Dasgupta and Abhimanyu Mukherjee. It is a remake of 2010 Tamil movie Singam.

Jeet is an Indian Bengali actor, producer and television presenter. Jeet started his modeling career in 1993. His first acting assignment was Bishabriksha (1994–95), a Bengali TV series directed by Bishnu Palchaudhuri. He made his big screen debut with Chandu (2001), a Telugu film. His first success came in 2002, opposite Priyanka Trivedi, through Sathi, a highly successful romantic drama, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, for which he won the Bengal Film Journalists' Association – Most Promising Actor Award and Anandalok Awards for Best Actor. Boss 2: Back to Rule is a 2017 India-Bangladesh joint production Bengali action thriller film directed by Baba Yadav and story written by Jeet. It is a sequel to his 2013 film, Boss: Born to Rule and the second installment of the Boss film series. The film features Jeet, Subhashree Ganguly and Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria in the leading roles. Jeet Gannguli composed the music for the film. The film was released in West Bengal on 23 June and in Bangladesh on 26 June 2017, and in the rest of India on 30 June 2017. It is the fourth highest grossing Bengali film of all time.

<i>Asur</i> (film) 2020 Indian Bengali-language film by Pavel Bhattacharjee

Asur is a 2020 Indian Bengali-language thriller drama film written and directed by Pavel. According to the director, it is a tribute to the sculptor Ramkinkar Baij, but the storyline is inspired from the 2015 Deshopriyo Park Durga Pujo, which made us visualize world's first ever largest Durga Idol. Produced by Jeet, Gopal Madnani and Amit Jumrani under the banner of Jeetz Filmworks, it stars Jeet in the titular role, alongsiside Abir Chatterjee and Nusrat Jahan in lead roles. The action sequences are designed by Sunil Rodrigues and Md. Amin Khatib. Originally set to release in December 2019, the film was released on 3 January 2020.

Ujaan Ganguly is an Indian film and theatre actor. He made his debut in Rosogolla (2018) directed by Pavel and was named as one of the top 10 actors of 2019. He was also adjudged the Best Debut Actor at the Tele Cine Awards and the North American Bengali Conference Film Festival, at Baltimore, 2019.
