Pax Forlag is a Norwegian publishing house, established in 1964. [1]

The first manager was Tor Bjerkmann, who chaired the company from 1964 to 1972. [2]

Starting with Bjerkmann's new translation of George Orwell's Animal Farm , Pax published 150 quality paperback editions during its first three years of operation. [3]

Pax Forlag has issued a selected reprint of the "working class" encyclopaedia Arbeidernes Leksikon in 1974, and the political encyclopaedia Pax Leksikon (1978–1981).

Hartvig Nissen

Ole Hartvig Nissen was a Norwegian philologist and educator. He founded Nissen's Girls' School in Christiania in 1849. In 1865 he became director-general in the Ministry of Education, while remaining one of three joint headmasters of Nissen's Girls' School until 1872. In 1873 he was appointed to the prestigious position as rector of Oslo Cathedral School.

Pax Leksikon is a Norwegian political encyclopedia published in six volumes by the Norwegian publishing house Pax Forlag from 1978 to 1981.

Arbeidermagasinet was a Norwegian weekly literary magazine established in 1927. It changed its name to Magasinet For Alle in 1953, and ceased publication in 1970. The magazine is especially noted for its literary quality and its promotion of the short story.

Steinar Hansson

Steinar Hansson was a Norwegian journalist and publisher. He was born in Asker. He worked as editor in the publishing house Pax Forlag, and edited the newspaper Ny Tid from 1979. From 1983 he worked for the publishing house J.W. Cappelens Forlag. He was cultural editor for the newspaper Arbeiderbladet, and later for Dagbladet. He was chief editor of Arbeiderbladet from 1995 to 2001
