Pay Money to My Pain (stylized as Pay money To my Pain and abbreviated as P.T.P.) was a Japanese rock band. All of the band's lyrics are in English. [1]

History

Early in life, Kei started writing lyrics as a way to cope with his depression and dark feelings. In 2005, after the disbandment of vocalist K's previous band, Gun Dog, he recruited four members and formed Pay money To my Pain. Kei said that his lyrics expressed his deepest pain and when fans bought the CDs, they were literally buying into his pain. Hence, Pay money To my Pain.

They began to produce songs by themselves before getting noticed by the record label VAP. From there, they released their first major single, "Drop of Ink", on December 6, 2006. [2]

Several months later, they went to California where they recorded their first album, Another Day Comes, which was released on September 12, 2007. The album included "Home", the Buzzer Beater ending song, and "Another Day Comes", the ending song for Ultraseven X . [3]

Guitarist Jin left Pay Money to My Pain in April 2008. The EP Writing in the Diary was released on July 30, 2008. [4]

The band's song "Bury", from the album After You Wake Up, was featured as the opening theme to the anime One Outs . Another of their songs, "The Answer is Not in the TV", was featured in the Konami video game Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 .

On June 9, 2010, Pay Money to My Pain released the single Pictures, which is an EP and a DVD sold separately.

On January 26, 2011, Pay Money to My Pain released their third album, Remember the Name.

They performed, along with Lynch, at a charity event on August 10, 2011, called "Shikiyakou -Shikui-", which was hosted by Dead End. All proceeds were donated to the victims of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11. [5]

In June 2012, vocalist K was hospitalized. That summer, Pay Money to My Pain performed their live show "House of Chaos". They covered Buck-Tick's song "Love Letter" for Parade II -Respective Tracks of Buck-Tick- , released on July 4, 2012. [6] In October, K was again hospitalized and went through rehabilitation; the band declared an activity stop. On December 30, 2012, K died of acute heart failure in his Yokohama home.

On 20 September 2013, they announced a new album called Gene, [7] with songs that K had recorded before his death, as well as songs recorded with guest vocalists. The album, released on November 13, 2013, included "Rain", the theme song of the movie Sekisekirenren, "Innocent in a Silent Room" and a new version of "Sweetest Vengeance". [8]

In December 2013, Pay money To my Pain played their last concert, entitled "From Here to Somewhere", before disbanding.

In January 2014, "Weight of my Pride" was featured in episode 12 of the anime series Hajime no Ippo: Rising . Their song "Respect for the Dead Man" was also used as the theme song for the Nobunagun anime, which began airing on January 5, 2014.

On December 29, 2014, a previously unreleased song named "Room #103", which has K on vocals, was uploaded to Pay money To my Pain's official YouTube channel. [9]

On December 29, 2015, another previously unreleased song named "Relive", which has K on vocals, was uploaded to Pay money To my Pain's official YouTube channel. [10]

On September 11, 2016, the band announced a limited edition box set entitled 10 Years from Drop of Ink including five CDs, two Blu-Rays, a 12" vinyl and various trinkets that would cover their entire career. The box set was slated for a December 6, 2016, release, ten years to the date of the release of their first major single, "Drop of Ink". [11]

On February 2, 2020, Pay money To my Pain played on the second day of "BLARE FEST. 2020" hosted by Coldrain. On this memorable day, PTP played "Ligarse", "Resurrection" (feat. masato from coldrain & Hazuki from lynch.), "Weight of my pride" (feat. MAH from SiM), "Respect for the dead man" (feat. Koie, Teru from Crossfaith, NOBUYA, N∀OKI from ROTTENGRAFFTY), "PICTURES" (feat. Yosh from Survive Said The Prophet, AG from NOISEMAKER), "Voice" (feat. Taka from ONE OK ROCK), "Rain", and "This Life".

Sexual XXXXX! is the second studio album by the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. It was the group's major label debut and was released on vinyl, cassette and CD on November 21, 1987 through on Victor Entertainment. The album was digitally remastered and re-released on September 19, 2002, with a different cover. Sexual XXXXX! was remastered and re-released again on September 5, 2007. The songs "Do the I Love You" and "Hyper Love" were later re-recorded for the band's compilation album Koroshi no Shirabe: This Is Not Greatest Hits (1992). "My Eyes & Your Eyes" was also re-recorded for the b-side to their "Rendezvous" single in 2007. Hurry Up Mode is the debut studio album by Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. It was released on both vinyl and CD on April 4, 1987 through Taiyo Records with the catalog number LEO 009. The CD version merges "Prologue" into "Plastic Syndrome Type II" as one track, and had two bonus tracks, "Vacuum Dream" and "No No Boy". The entire album was later remixed and re-released in 1990, excluding the two bonus tracks. "Moonlight" was later re-recorded again for the band's 1992 self-cover album Koroshi no Shirabe: This Is Not Greatest Hits.

Darker Than Darkness -Style 93- is the seventh studio album by the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. It was released on June 23, 1993, through Victor Entertainment. The album peaked at number two on the Oricon chart, became a certified gold seller by July 1993, and subsequently sold 213,260 copies. Darker Than Darkness -Style 93- was digitally remastered and re-released on September 19, 2002, with two bonus tracks. It was remastered and re-released again on September 5, 2007. "Dress" was remixed and used as the opening theme for the anime Trinity Blood (2005), this version was also released as a single. The album was named one of the top albums from 1989 to 1998 in a 2004 issue of the music magazine Band Yarouze.

Cosmos is the ninth studio album by the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick. The album was released on June 21, 1996, through Victor Entertainment. It was the group's last album released through Victor and peaked at number six on the Oricon charts. Cosmos has sold 130,000 copies within two weeks. The album was digitally remastered and re-released on September 19, 2002, with two bonus tracks. It was remastered and re-released again on September 5, 2007. The song "Tight Rope" was later re-recorded as the b-side to the group's "Alice in Wonder Underground" single in 2007, and "Sane" was re-recorded in 2012 for their "Elise no Tame ni" single. The album was heavily influenced by electronic music, as the band started gravitating towards cyberpunk music.

Razzle Dazzle is the seventeenth album by Japanese rock band Buck-Tick, released on October 13, 2010. Graphic artist Aquirax Uno provided the illustrations for the album's cover. The limited edition came with a DVD of music videos and an interview. It reached number six on both the Oricon chart and Billboard Japan, selling 20,384 copies.

<i>Parade -Respective Tracks of Buck-Tick-</i> 2005 compilation album by Various artists

Parade -Respective Tracks of Buck-Tick- is the first tribute album to Japanese rock band Buck-Tick, released on December 21, 2005. It collects cover versions of their songs by various artists. It reflected the influence Buck-Tick had on younger generation musicians in Japan, and later in 2007, some of these artists performed at a festival dedicated to the band, which was released on DVD. The album reached number 14 on the Oricon chart.

Granrodeo is a Japanese rock band, specializing in creating anime soundtracks.

"Dress" is the seventh single by Japanese rock band Buck Tick, released on May 21, 1993. The song was written by vocalist Atsushi Sakurai, composed by guitarist Hidehiko Hoshino, and produced by the band themselves. It was the first single released off of their seventh studio album Darker Than Darkness -Style 93-, which was released a month later. It reached number 5 on the Oricon Singles Chart. It is band's fourth best-selling single, with over 171,000 copies sold.

"Gessekai" (月世界) is the fifteenth single released by the Japanese rock band Buck Tick, released on May 13, 1998. The song "Gessekai" was used as opening theme of the anime Nightwalker: The Midnight Detective. Track three is a remix of "Muchi no Namida" from Sexy Stream Liner done by Tomoyasu Hotei.

Hazuki (葉月) is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician, known for being the vocalist and main songwriter of visual kei band Lynch.
