"Peligroso Amor" (English: Dangerous Love) is a ballad written by Gogo Muñoz, produced by Humberto Gatica and performed by Chilean singer-songwriter Myriam Hernández. The song was released as the lead single form her second studio album Dos (1990) and became her first number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart. [2] Gogo Muñoz, also wrote Hernández' debut single titled "El Hombre Que Yo Amo", a top ten single in the aforementioned chart in 1989. [2] [3] All the singles released from the album Dos were international hits that spent several weeks at number-one of the rankings in Latin America. This album also marked a record in the Latin Pop Albums in the United States by staying at number-one for 18 consecutive weeks. [4] The music video for the song was produced by Luis De Llano and received a nomination for the Billboard Best Latin Video by a Female Artist. [4] It was nominated in the category of Best Video by a Female Artist in the Latin field. [5]

The song debuted in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart (formerly Hot Latin Tracks) at number 34 in the week of August 11, 1990, climbing to the top ten three weeks later, [6] [7] peaking at number-one on October 6, 1990, holding this position for two weeks, [8] replacing "Amnesia" by Mexican performer José José, and being succeeded at the top by Chayanne's "Completamente Enamorados". [9]

"Peligroso Amor" was covered by American singer Brenda K. Starr in 1997. [10] Starr also recorded "Herida", the third single from Dos, on her album Te Sigo Esperando , [10] which was awarded with a Platinum album certification in the United States. [11] Hernández included the song on her compilation albums Todo lo Mío (1992), Mis Mejores Canciones: 17 Super Éxitos (1993) and Huellas (2004). [12]

Dos, also known as Myriam Hernández 2, is the second studio album recorded by Chilean singer-songwriter Myriam Hernández, It was released by Capitol/EMI Latin on August 21, 1990. The album became very successful in Latin America and the United States where it peaked at number-one in the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart. The album includes two number-one singles by Hernández, "Te Pareces Tanto a Él" and "Peligroso Amor", and her self-penned top three hit "Herida". Dos was nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Awards.

"Entrégate" is a pop song written, produced and arranged by Juan Carlos Calderón, and performed by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. It was released as the second single from his Grammy Award nominated studio album 20 Años (1990), and became his fifth number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart. The parent album became commercially successful, with sales records throughout Latin America, with six of its singles entered the charts in Mexico simultaneously. After its release, Miguel was recognized as the leading male vocalist in Latin America.

"Amnesia" is a ballad written by Chico Novarro and co-written by Dino Ramos, produced by Óscar López and co-produced by Daniel Freiberg and performed by Mexican singer José José. The song was originally recorded by Argentinean singer-songwriter Chico Novarro in his album Que Salga El Autor, released in 1976, and by Puerto Rican-American singer-songwriter and actress Yolandita Monge in her album En Su Intimidad, released in 1978. It was released later as the lead single from José José's album En las Buenas... y en las Malas (1990), and became his fourth number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart.

"Te Pareces Tanto a Él" is a ballad written by Salvadoran singer-songwriter Álvaro Torres, produced by Humberto Gatica and performed by Chilean singer-songwriter Myriam Hernández. The song was released as the second single from her second studio album Dos (1990) and became her second number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart. Hernández also included the song on her compilation albums Todo lo Mío (1992), Mis Mejores Canciones: 17 Super Éxitos (1993) and Huellas (2004).

Completamente Enamorados is a ballad written by Adelio Cogliati, Piero Cassano and Eros Ramazzotti. Originally titled "Un Nuovo Amore", the song was performed by Italian singer-songwriter Ramazzotti in his second album Nuovi eroi, released in 1986. Two years later the song was re-recorded in Spanish on the Spanish language version of his album Música Es, released in 1988. Two years later it was covered by Puerto Rican singer Chayanne, and this version was released as the first single of his album Tiempo de Vals (1990).
