The station has two street-level entrances, but unlike other Baltimore Metro stations that do, both these entrances share a common gate inside the station. The Shot Tower station is one of two stops in the third phase of the Baltimore Metro, having opened in 1995. Originally named Shot Tower/Market Place to showcase the proximity to the Market Place development, MTA Maryland dropped Market Place from its title with the 2017 rebranding of BaltimoreLink.
Cayuga Generating Station is an electricity-generating facility, located in Eugene Township, Vermillion County, near Cayuga, Indiana. Its almost identical, coal-fired Units 1 and 2 were launched into service in 1970 and 1972, and have a combined name-plate generating capacity of 1,062 MWe. Unit 4 is powered by natural gas, but can also be switched to oil. There are also four minor oil-fired units of internal combustion design. The facility is entirely owned by Duke Energy.
The Gould Street Generating Station was a former 100 MW electric generating plant operated by Exelon that was located on Gould Street in south Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The plant was adjacent to an elevated section of freeway I-95 and was south of the Riverside neighborhood and west of the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore. The plant site, located on the shore of the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, was used for the generation of electric power for over one hundred years before being shut down on June 1, 2019. The site was purchased by Greenspring Realty Partners, Inc. for $3.1 million in December 2019. Demolition began in October 2020.

The plant was originally co-owned by Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and Consolidated Edison, and was sold to AllCapital and Industry Funds Management in 2007. The Carlyle Group, an asset management company, acquired the plant in 2016.
