Peter Schneider (born November 10,1950) is an American film executive,film producer and theatrical producer. He is best known for being,from 1985 to 1999,the president of Disney's feature animation department,which became known as Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1986,and was responsible for helping to turn the feature animation department around and creating some of the most critically acclaimed and highest grossing animated features that Disney released in a period that became known as the "Disney Renaissance".
He was promoted to studio chief in 1999. In 2001,Schneider left Disney to form his own theater production company. His first major production,developed in association with Michael Reno,was Sister Act [1] which opened at the London Palladium in 2009. [2] Peter graduated from Purdue University in 1972 with a theater degree. [3]
Along with producer Don Hahn,Schneider produced a documentary entitled Waking Sleeping Beauty in 2009,which focused on the revival of Disney animation during the 1980s and early 1990s.[ citation needed ]
Schneider is also a world champion bridge player,having won the World Transnational Open Teams Championship in 2005. [4] He possesses the World Bridge Federation (WBF) title of World Life Master (WLM). [5]

The 51-acre studio lot also contains several sound stages,a backlot,and other filmmaking production facilities for Walt Disney Studios's motion picture production. The World Transnational Open Teams Championship is a major side event conducted by the World Bridge Federation during the semifinal and final stages of its world championships for national teams at contract bridge—the Bermuda Bowl,Venice Cup,and Senior Bowl. New teams may enter the Transnational,as well as national teams eliminated before the semifinals of the main events—Open,Women,and Seniors respectively. It is not required that all team members be from one country,hence the term transnational. A series of Swiss matches qualifies eight teams for three knockout rounds which conclude during the finals of the main events.

The World Junior Pairs Championship is a bridge competition organized by the World Bridge Federation. It was inaugurated 1995 in Ghent,Belgium,when it incorporated the European Junior Pairs Championship inaugurated 1991. Officially the Juniors and Youngsters Pairs Championships are biennial in odd years,although there are parallel contests in some even years.

These were mostly musical adaptations of well-known stories,similar to the films produced during the era of Walt Disney from the 1930s to 1960s. The resurgence allowed Disney's animated films to become a powerhouse of successes at the domestic and foreign box office,earning much greater profits than most of the Disney films of previous eras.
