The Philippi station is a historic train station in Philippi, West Virginia, United States. Built in 1911, the Mission style building is an unusual representative of that style in the state. After passenger service to Philippi ceased in 1956, the building was used by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a workshop. The station was purchased by the city in 1979 and was restored as the Barbour County Historical Museum. [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. [1]
Philippi ('FILL-uh-pea') is a city in and the county seat of Barbour County, West Virginia, United States, along the Tygart Valley River. The population was 2,929 at the 2020 census. In 1861, the city was the site of the Battle of Philippi, known as the "Philippi Races". Although a minor skirmish, this is considered the earliest notable land action of the American Civil War. The city has a weekly newspaper, The Barbour Democrat.
Mount Airy station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station at 119 East Gowen Avenue between Devon and Sprague Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built in 1875 with Frank Furness as the likely architect. The National Register of Historic Places Nomination Form lists the architect as unknown, but notes the similarities to the nearby Gravers station which was designed by Furness. Both stations display an aggressively styled roofline in the Queen Anne Stick Style. The Mount Airy station's roof is described as "combining hipped, gabled, jerkinhead designs with a double splayed profile" and the Graver's Lane Station might be considered even more aggressive.
The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Station was an Atlantic Coast Line Railroad station in Lake Wales, Florida. On August 31, 1990, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building is now used by the Lake Wales History Museum.
The Barbour County Courthouse in Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia, USA is a monumental public building constructed between 1903 and 1905 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. It dominates the town center and is the county's chief symbol of government. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Two Harbors station is a historic train station located on Sixth Street in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The station was built in 1907. The large two-story depot was the third depot on the site. The Minnesota Iron Company developed the Duluth and Iron Range Railroad in 1883, laid out the town of Two Harbors in 1885, and built depots to conducts its business. When the rail line was completed to Duluth, it was used as a transfer point for passengers, lumber, and mining supplies. When passenger service ended in 1961, the depot was donated to Lake County. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 as the Duluth and Iron Range Railroad Company Depot.
Horseheads is a historic railway depot located at Horseheads, Chemung County, New York. It was built in 1866 by the Northern Central Railway (NCRY). The train station was operated by the NCRY and its successor, the Pennsylvania Railroad, until 1956. The Italianate style building is significant architecturally and historically as a representative of a 19th-century railroad depot.
Oakland station is a historic railroad station located at Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland. It is a large brick structure with a two-story central section featuring a cylindrical tower with a domed cap and one-story wings extending from each end along the railroad tracks. It was designed by Baldwin and Pennington, and built in 1884 by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) across the tracks and a meadow from the Railroad's Oakland Hotel, which opened in 1876, to support the development of Oakland and Garrett County as a resort area. It is one of the finest remaining examples in Maryland of a Queen Anne style railroad station.

Chestertown is a historic railway station built in 1902–03 for the Pennsylvania Railroad and located in Chestertown, Kent County, Maryland. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, 17-by-47-foot Queen Anne–style building. It features a hip roof with a wide bracketed overhang that provided shelter for train passengers on all four sides.
Union Bridge station is a historic railway station in Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland. It was built in 1902 as a stop for the Western Maryland Railway. It is representative of the rural railway stations constructed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The station's two buildings are arranged with their south façades lengthwise fronting the railroad tracks.
Mayville station is a historic train station located at Mayville in Chautauqua County, New York. It was constructed in 1925, for the Pennsylvania Railroad and is a 1+1⁄2-story, brick structure with an overhanging hipped roof. The building measures 117 by 29 feet. The station had were Pennsylvania Railroad trains on a route north to Dunkirk and then to Buffalo. To the south, the routed went to Corry and Oil City and then to Pittsburgh. From the station, travelers to resorts along Chautauqua Lake made connections to interurbans and large fleets of steamboats. The Chautauqua Traction Company served the communities on the western side of the lake; and the Jamestown, Westfield and Northwestern Railroad served the eastern side of the lake.
The Potter Place Railroad Station is a historic railroad station on Depot Street in Andover, New Hampshire. Built in 1874, it is one of the best-preserved surviving 19th-century railroad stations in Merrimack County. It now houses the museum of the Andover Historical Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
Martisco station, also known as Martisco Station Railway Museum, is a railroad station in Martisco, Onondaga County, New York. It was built in 1870 by the Auburn and Syracuse Railroad, and is a two-story, Italianate style brick building. Decorative brackets support an unusually long overhang of the roof. The line and station were eventually acquired by the New York Central Railroad. The station is owned by the Central New York Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and is open as a museum during limited hours in the summer. Adjacent to the station is a contributing Pennsylvania Railroad dining car.
Lyon Mountain station is a historic train station located at Lyon Mountain, Clinton County, New York. The station was built by the Delaware and Hudson Railway in 1903, and is a long one-story, rectangular, wood-frame building with Late Victorian style design elements. It has a hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves and topped by a cupola with a pyramidal roof. The station remained in use until 1949–1950, and later used as a post office and tavern. It is now a museum.

It was built in 1911–1912, and is a three-story white brick building in the Neoclassical style. It measures 40 feet by 90 feet. It features a hipped roof covered in red tile and four classical pilaster topped with Ionic order capitals.

It encompasses 113 contributing buildings and one contributing structure dating from the mid-19th century through early 20th century. The district includes the commercial, ecclesiastical, and civic core of the town situated along the Tygart Valley River.

The Rock Island Depot is a one-story brick structure in El Reno, Oklahoma. Built in 1907 on the railroad tracks that ran along the western boundary of the Unassigned Lands that led to El Reno's settlement in 1889, it served as a passenger and freight terminal for the junction of the east–west and north–south lines of the Rock Island Railroad.
