Pierre Pay-Pay wa Syakasighe (born 10 July 1946,in Bukavu),is an economist and politician of the Democratic Republic of Congo. During his career,he held several positions relating to the Economy and Finance. He has served as Minister of Economy,Industry and Foreign Trade,Minister of Portfolio,Minister of Finance, [1] CEO of Commercial Gécamines,and Governor of the Central Bank of Congo at the time of Zaire. [2] Pierre Pay-Pay was a candidate in the 2006 Presidential Election for the Congolese Democratic Convention (CODECO),an electoral platform that brought together several political parties. He served in the National Assembly as a member following the 2006 Legislative Elections. He is currently National President of the Union of Christian Democratic Federalists (U.DE.C.F).
Pay-Pay is also a member of the political bureau for "Ensemble pour le changement",the opposition political coalition formed by former governor of Katanga Moïse Katumbi to support his presidential bid in the upcoming 2018 presidential election. [3]

He was sentenced to one year in prison on 11 September 2014 for insulting the President. Ewanga's case was discussed in the UK Parliament where it garnered 28 signatures across party lines. He was previously aligned to the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy.
Sam Bokolombe Batuli is a Congolese politician and Union for the Congolese Nation Member of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
General elections were held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 30 December 2018,to determine a successor to President Joseph Kabila,as well as for the 500 seats of the National Assembly and the 715 elected seats of the 26 provincial assemblies. Félix Tshisekedi (UDPS) won with 38.6% of the vote,defeating another opposition candidate,Martin Fayulu,and Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary,backed by the ruling party PPRD. Fayulu alleged that the vote was rigged against him in a deal made by Tshisekedi and outgoing President Kabila,challenging the result in the DRC's Constitutional Court. Different election observers,including those from the country's Roman Catholic Church,also cast doubt on the official result. Nonetheless on 20 January the Court rejected his appeal and declared Tshisekedi as the winner. Parties supporting President Kabila won the majority of seats in the National Assembly. Félix Tshisekedi was sworn in as the 5th President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 24 January 2019,making it the first peaceful transition of power in the country since it became independent from Belgium in 1960.

Martin Madidi Fayulu is a politician in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is the leader of the Engagement for Citizenship and Development party. He is widely viewed as the legitimate winner of the DRC's 2018 presidential election. On 11 November 2018,he was chosen by seven opposition leaders to be their joint presidential candidate in the 2018 Democratic Republic of the Congo general election. However,within 24 hours,Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo,the eventual official,but widely viewed as fraudulent,winner of the 2018 presidential election,and Vital Kamerhe,the other opposition candidate,rescinded their endorsement of his candidacy and formed their own pact with Tshisekedi as candidate.
General elections are expected to be held in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 20 December 2023. Simultaneous elections will be held for the President,almost all of the members of the National Assembly,almost all of the elected members of the 26 provincial assemblies,and,for the first time under the new constitution,members of a limited number of commune (municipal) councils.
