The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Venezuela competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland. The Venezuelan Olympic Committee selected 38 competitors, 36 men and two women, to take part in 37 events across eight sports. This was a much greater turnout than 1948, Venezuela's only previous entry, which had only one athlete. For the first time, women represented Venezuela at the Summer Olympics. Women have been absent in the Venezuelan team on four occasions, including the next Summer Games held in Melbourne.

The sporting shooter Enrico Forcella won the nation's second ever Olympic medal and to date solely Olympic medallist in shooting. Women's return after being absent from the previous game, competing in fencing like before but also for the first time in swimming.
Pio Vennettilli was an Italian sprint canoer who competed in the early 1950s. He was eliminated in the heats of the K-2 1000 m event at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.
Rogelio Chirino is a Cuban sprint canoer who competed in the early 1970s. He was eliminated in the repechages of the K-2 1000 m event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
Robinson David Chirinos González is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He signed with the Cubs as a nondrafted free agent out of Venezuela in 2000.
