"Pistah: The Run Anthem" is a song composed by Rajesh Murugesan and sung by Shabareesh Varma for the Malayalam Tamil bilingual Neram starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim. [2] The lyric of the song is apparently the creation of the Malayalam veteran actor Jagathi Sreekumar for the 1983 Malayalam movie Kinnaram. Additional lyrics were added by Shabareesh Varma. A music video was released in March 2013 and went viral. [1] The video was directed by Alphonse Putharen. The song was a tribute to Jagathy Sreekumar, who had met with an accident just over a year before its release. [3] The song has been used as the promo song for IPL 2016 .

Sreekumar P. K., better known by his stage name Jagathy Sreekumar or Jagathy, is a versatile Indian film actor who has starred in over 1500 Malayalam films in a career spanning almost four decades. Widely regarded as one of the greatest actors and the greatest comedian in Indian cinema of all time, he is also known for his highly nuanced character roles. He is the son of acclaimed dramaturge and writer, the late Jagathy N. K. Achary.

Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja is a 2009 Indian Malayalam-language biographical action film based on the life of Pazhassi Raja, a Hindu king who fought against the British in the 18th century. The film was directed by Hariharan, written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair and produced by Gokulam Gopalan.
