"Plans" is the second single by Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's self-titled third album, Birds of Tokyo . The song proved to be their most successful single to date, peaking at #11 on the Australian Singles Chart [1] and becoming their first ever single to hit the top 50 in Australia. "Plans" was performed by the group at the 2010 ARIA Awards, in which the song was nominated for "Single of the Year". It was voted No. 4 in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown of 2010. As of September 2012, "Plans" has been certified triple platinum by ARIA with sales exceeding 210,000. [2]
In an interview with Triple J, frontman Ian Kenny said regarding the song:
"When you're writing records, every now and then you come across a bit of a stone in the road in the writing process, and you start questioning things. 'Plans' just wasn't coming together the way we thought it should, so we put the song down for a bit, and when we returned to it — I don't remember what we did differently — it came together. We got the demo and went, 'Yep, that's got something in its guts.'" [3]
"Plans" debuted on the ARIA Singles Chart at No. 30 on the issue dated 18 July 2010, however it descended to No. 32 on its second week. It eventually reached its peak of No. 11 six weeks later. As of 23 January 2011, "Plans" has spent a total of 28 weeks in the ARIA top 50. [1] The song debuted on the New Zealand Singles Chart at No. 38 on 29 November 2010 and reached the peak position of No. 34.
The music video for "Plans" premiered on 21 June 2010. [4] It was shot in Brisbane, Australia and directed by Sean Gilligan. [5]

Alexander Lloyd is an Australian singer-songwriter. Four of his albums, Black the Sun, Watching Angels Mend, Distant Light and Alex Lloyd, released between 1999 and 2005, made the top ten on the ARIA charts. Lloyd has also won the ARIA Award for Best Male Artist on three occasions.
The Whitlams are an Australian Indie rock band formed in late 1992. The original line-up was Tim Freedman on keyboards and lead vocals, Andy Lewis on double bass and Stevie Plunder on guitar and lead vocals. Other than mainstay Freedman, the line-up has changed numerous times. From 2001 to 2022, he was joined by Warwick Hornby on bass guitar, Jak Housden on guitar and Terepai Richmond on drums – forming the band's longest-lasting and best-known line-up. Four of their studio albums have reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 20: Eternal Nightcap, Love This City, Torch the Moon and Little Cloud. Their highest charting singles are "Blow Up the Pokies" and "Fall for You" – both reached number 21. The group's single, "No Aphrodisiac" was listed at number one on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1997 by listeners of national radio station, Triple J. In January 1996 Stevie Plunder was found dead at the base of Wentworth Falls. Andy Lewis died in February 2000.

"My Happiness" is a song by Australian rock band Powderfinger. It was released via record label Universal Music Australia on 21 August 2000 as the first single from the band's fourth album, Odyssey Number Five. Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning wrote the lyrics for "My Happiness" as a reflection on the time the band spent touring to promote their work, and the loneliness that came as a result. It was inspired by his love of gospel and soul music. The rest of the band are co-credited with Fanning for composing the track. Despite its melancholy mood, "My Happiness" is considered by many to be a love song, a suggestion Fanning regards as mystifying.

Boy & Bear are an Australian indie folk band formed in 2009, consisting of David Hosking, Killian Gavin, Tim Hart, Jonathan Hart, and David Symes (bass). The band has released two EPs and five studio albums. The first two albums, Moonfire and Harlequin Dream, reached the top ten of the Australian albums chart. Their third album, Limit of Love, was released on 9 October 2015, in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, and on 30 October in the UK and Europe. On 27 September 2019, after a four-year break, they released their long-awaited fourth studio album, Suck on Light. After yet another break between 2020 and 2022 due to the COVID pandemic, the band finally released their self-titled fifth studio album on 26 May 2023.
"Baby I'm Gettin' Better" is the second single from Australian alternative rock band Gyroscope's fourth studio album, Cohesion. It was released digitally on 17 May 2010. The single become the second top 40 hit from Cohesion on the ARIA Singles Chart, which peaked at No. 34 and spent a total of fourteen weeks in the top 50. The song is the group's third highest-charting single behind previous singles "Some of the Places I Know" and "Snakeskin". By the end of the year it was certified gold by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
"Big Jet Plane" is a song written by Australian singer and songwriter Angus Stone, originally recorded under the stage name "Lady of the Sunshine" for his 2009 album Smoking Gun. It was then re-recorded the following year by Stone and his sister Julia as a duo. On 26 January 2011, Australian radio station Triple J announced that the Angus & Julia Stone version of "Big Jet Plane" was the winner of its 2010 Hottest 100 countdown.

The band comprises the three Margin brothers, Izaac, Sam and Elliott, and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis. Their debut self-titled album The Rubens gained them domestic success with it reaching number 3 on the ARIA Charts and being nominated for a J Award for Album of the Year.
"Lanterns" is the second single from Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's fourth album, March Fires. Band member Ian Berney said "It was always about our own sense of community and reaching far and wide in the most positive way we could, with the most positive message we had at the time, and it really connected with people."
March Fires is the fourth studio album by Western Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo. It was released on 1 March 2013 in Australia, North American and Europe through EMI. It is the band's second major-label studio album release after 2010's Birds of Tokyo under EMI. It is also the first album by the band not to feature founding member Anthony Jackson, after he had left the band in 2011. His replacement, Ian Berney, makes his debut appearance on the album as the band's new bassist.

Sales towards "This Fire" counted towards the EP which peaked at number 32 and was certified gold in 2013.
"I'd Go with You Anywhere" is the first single from Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's compilation album, Playlist. It was co-written by the group's members, Ian Berney, Ian Kenny, Glenn Sarangapany, Adam Spark, and Adam Weston, and was released on 25 September 2015. "I'd Go with You Anywhere" debuted at No. 40 on the ARIA singles chart and peaked at No. 18 five weeks later, becoming Birds of Tokyo's third Top 20 hit after "Plans" (2010) and "Lanterns" (2013).
"Wild at Heart" is the third single from Australian alternative rock rock band, Birds of Tokyo's self-titled third album, Birds of Tokyo. The song peaked at No. 50 on the Australian Singles Chart in February 2011 and was certified gold. It was listed at No. 47 in Triple J Hottest 100, 2010. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2011, the song was nominated for Single of the Year, but lost to "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye and Kimbra.
