Levellers are an English folk rock and anarcho-punk band formed in Brighton, England, in 1988, consisting of Mark Chadwick, Jeremy Cunningham, Charlie Heather (drums), Jon Sevink (violin), Simon Friend, Matt Savage (keyboards) and Dan Donnelly. Taking their name from the Levellers political movement, the band released their first EP in 1989 and LP in 1990, with international success following upon signing to China Records and the release of their second album Levelling the Land. The band were among the most popular indie bands in Britain in the early 1990s, and performed at the Glastonbury Festival, first in 1992, then in 1994, where they performed as the headline act on The Pyramid Stage to a record crowd of 300,000 people. They continue to record and tour.
Unbelievable Truth are a British rock band, led by Andy Yorke, with Nigel Powell, Jason Moulster, and Jim Crosskey. Their sound has been described as "slow, melancholy, country-tinged ballads, wrapped in a soft blanket of acoustic guitars and minor chords".
Pilgrimage is the second studio album by the rock band Wishbone Ash. The album focuses more on folk and acoustic music as opposed to the blues rock sound that dominated the first album. The album also contains the instrumental jazz workout "Vas Dis" as well as moodier, slower instrumentals such as "Alone" and "Lullaby".
Francis Edward Turner is an English punk and folk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. He began his career as the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead, then embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band's split in 2005. In the studio and during live performances, Turner is accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd, Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir and Callum Green (drums).
Campfire Punkrock is the first EP by UK based songwriter Frank Turner. The EP was released via Xtra Mile Recordings on May 15, 2006. The vinyl release includes a live version of "The Ballad of Me and My Friends" and is pressed on a sulfur-yellow 10" vinyl. The EP was recorded at the Oxford home of Frank Turner's bass player by his guitarist. It was mixed by Tristan Ivemy who also mixed the Love, Ire and Song album and who helped record and produce Frank Turner's fourth full-length release England Keep My Bones.
Sleep Is for the Week is the debut album by UK based songwriter Frank Turner, released on 15 January 2007 by Xtra Mile Recordings. In a 2008 interview, Turner claimed that the album was "a snapshot of pretty much exactly one year of my life". The general reception by the music press was largely positive. The artwork for the album sleeve was drawn by Chris Pell.
Love Ire & Song is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Frank Turner, released on 31 March 2008 by Xtra Mile Recordings. On 26 January 2009, the album was re-released as a deluxe version, including the First Three Years compilation album. Love Ire & Song was re-released on 21 July 2009 through Epitaph Records, where Frank Turner had recently signed to.
"My Propeller" is a song by the English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. It was released as the third single from the band's third studio album Humbug, as announced on 1 February 2010. Released on 22 March 2010, the single follows its two predecessors from Humbug, "Crying Lightning" and "Cornerstone", with the 10" vinyl being sold exclusively at Oxfam charity stores. Originally, Arctic Monkeys planned the third single to be "Pretty Visitors", but was switched to "My Propeller". The video for the single was released on 18 March.
Dive Dive are a British rock band, composed of Jamie Stuart, Ben Lloyd, Nigel Powell and Tarrant Anderson. Ben Lloyd and Tarrant Anderson also play as full-time members of Frank Turner's band, The Sleeping Souls.
Rock & Roll is an EP by Frank Turner, released on 6 December 2010 on Xtra Mile Recordings. Describing the release as "a taster" for his subsequent studio album, England Keep My Bones, the EP was preceded by the single, "I Still Believe".
Nigel Powell is an English multi-instrumental musician from Abingdon.
Matt Nasir is an English multi-instrumental musician, based in London, England. He currently plays keyboards in Frank Turner's band The Sleeping Souls and is a member of the London-based rock band, The Pressure Room. He has also previously played in Andy Yorke's live band and is known as the 'Archivist' for his remixing work. Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls headlined Wembley Arena in April 2012 and played at the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Nasir also features as the guitarist in a side-project, Mïngle Härde, with Frank Turner and Frank's former Million Dead bandmate, Ben Dawson. Nasir plays a baritone guitar in Mïngle Härde.
England Keep My Bones is the fourth studio album by London-based singer-songwriter Frank Turner, released on 6 June 2011, on Xtra Mile in the United Kingdom, and on 7 June 2011, on Epitaph Records worldwide. Preceded by the single, "Peggy Sang the Blues", the album was produced and mixed by Tristan Ivemy, who had previously mixed Love, Ire and Song, Rock & Roll and Campfire Punkrock.
Frank Turner Live From Wembley is a Frank Turner concert video released on 3 September 2012. It was filmed on 13 April 2012 at Wembley Arena and the DVD was released on 3 September 2012. The DVD shows the full concert on the first disc, while the second disc contains two documentaries and the promo videos for Frank's singles off his latest album England Keep My Bones. The disc containing the concert was also included as a bonus disc on the compilation of Last Minutes & Lost Evenings, as well as the re-release of England Keep My Bones.
