Air Marshal P. K. Desai PVSM AVSM VSM (born November 12, 1944) is a retired officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF). [1] He served in the IAF from 1966 to 2004. Desai was Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Chakeri in Kanpur, and additionally served as Senior Maintenance Staff Officer of Maintenance Command in Nagpur and as Assistant Chief of Air Staff Engineering at Air Headquarters in New Delhi. Desai worked on research and development aspects of indigenisation of the IAF. He was chair of Aeronautical Society of India (Uttar Pradesh and Bihar). [6] He also served on scientific committees at National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) and Indian Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ISNDT). [1] [7]

Desai served as Deputy Air Attache at Indian Embassy in Moscow. Later, he was part of several Indian delegations to Russia and Ukraine, and completed defense contracts successfully. [1] He was a member of Indian delegation to Russia led by the then Defense Minister George Fernandes in 2002. [11]
The Government of India conferred on Desai Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM). [1]

Desai is the President of Air Force Association of Gujarat headquartered in Ahmedabad since retirement from the IAF. [12] [13] [14] [15] The association looks after the welfare of retired Air Force personnel and is also involved in community service. [16] [17] [18]
Desai has helped establish Navin Desai Residential School near Nagpur in Maharashtra in memory of his brother. The school provides free education to children of migrant quarry workers. [19] [20]
Air Marshal Sadasivan Radhakrishnan PVSM, AVSM, is a retired officer in the Indian Air Force. He served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Southern Air Command. Previously he served as Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command and also served as a Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) of the Indian Air Force’s Bangalore based Training Command. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned into the IAF in June 1970 in the fighter stream. He has the experience of over 4000 hours of flying on a variety of combat and trainer aircraft. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and a fighter Combat Leader.
Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyay, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, PHS is a decorated former flight surgeon in the Indian Air Force. She was the first woman to be promoted to the rank of Air Marshal in the Indian Air Force. She is the second woman in the Indian Armed Forces to be promoted to a three-star rank, after Surgeon Vice Admiral Punita Arora.
Air Chief Marshal Srinivasapuram Krishnaswamy PVSM, AVSM, VM & Bar, ADC is a former Air Officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF). He served as the 19th Chief of the Air Staff from 2001 to 2004. He raised the first electronic warfare squadron in the Indian Air Force. He has the rare distinction of having commanded three operational commands of the IAF - the Western, South-Western and Central Air Commands.
Air Chief Marshal Lakshman Madhav Katre, PVSM, AVSM and Bar (1926–1985) was the head of the Indian Air Force (IAF) from 1984 to 1985, as Chief of the Air Staff and the second IAF Chief of Staff to die in harness. He was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Bar. He completed his schooling from The Doon School, Dehradun, India. In his career in the lAF, he commanded with distinction squadrons, stations and the Air Force Academy. During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, he successfully conducted uninterrupted operations from one of the most forward airfields, which was regularly attacked by the Pakistan Air Force. This was due to his meticulous planning.
Air Marshal Shirish Baban Deo, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, ADC was the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force. He assumed the office of Vice Chief on 31 December 2016 from Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa and served in the same capacity till his retirement on 30 September 2018.
Air Marshal Chandrashekharan Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, ADC is a retired officer of the Indian Air Force. He served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command from 1 January 2017 to 28 February 2019.
