Prichard is an unincorporated community in Shoshone County, Idaho, United States. [1]

History

A post office called Prichard was established in 1910, and remained in operation until 1943. [2] The community derived its name from Andrew J. Prichard, a gold prospector. [3]

In October 1805, the Lewis and Clark Expedition descended the Clearwater River in dugout canoes, putting in at "Canoe Camp," five miles (8 km) downstream from Orofino; they reached the Columbia Bar and the Pacific Ocean about six weeks later.
