Princeton Community Television (also known as Princeton TV and TV30) is a Public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable TV channels in Princeton, New Jersey. The station provides camera equipment, TV studios and training that allow the community to create television shows, films, and other projects. The station is carried on Comcast channel 30 and Verizon FIOS channel 45 in the Princeton, New Jersey area. Princeton Community Television is one of the largest public producers of original content in New Jersey.

History

Princeton Community Television (TV30) is a Public Access cable television station, [1] The station was created by the Borough and Township of Princeton in 1995, and occupied "two cramped, very small rooms" in The Arts Council building on Witherspoon Street; it moved to larger quarters in the old Valley Road School building in 2003. [2] In 2013 the station moved from Valley Road, to newly renovated quarters in the former Borough Hall building at 1 Monument Drive. [3]

Medical Tips You Need to Know went on the air in 2009; program hosts Patricia Raya, RN, C, MBA and Corine Mogenis, Medical Paralegal, discussed health topics with the goal of helping people navigate the healthcare system [5]

Talking Jazz with Eric Mintel

First aired on Feb. 8, 2018, the program features performances by and interviews with jazz musicians, and with other figures on the jazz scene. Guests have included Ella Ghant, a singer, and pianists Jim Riddle and Steve Rudolph. [6] [7]

Secrets of College Planning

Anthony Uva was an athlete in high school and a NJ state champion at a Group 1 school. In 2013, Anthony was asked to host a college information talk show called Secrets of College Planning. There have been more than 200 shows broadcast [8] and he has a social media following of over 1 million.

TV3, owned and operated by Medford Community Cablevision, Inc., is a public-access television channel serving Medford, Massachusetts. It was created by mandate of the 1984 Cable Franchise Policy and Communications Act. The channel's current facilities are located at 5 High Street, under then-U.S. Representative Ed Markey's office in Medford Square. Medford Community Cablevision oversees the community's public access television on Comcast channel 3. It functions as both a production facility as well as a telecast station. In 2010 the station unveiled new services to the community including video on demand and 24/7 streaming video services on its website.

Tri-Valley Community Television (TV30) is a nonprofit public-access television, educational-access television and government-access television (GATV) (PEG) television channel serving the Tri-Valley area, east of San Francisco, California. The cities include Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton and San Ramon. The station operates channels 28, 29 and 30 on the Comcast Cable TV system. It can also be seen throughout the San Francisco Bay Area on AT&T U-verse VDSL service. It cablecasts to 68,000 households representing a population of nearly 200,000 people. Until mid-2007, TV30 was one of the few community cable stations with a live daily newscast. The Pleasanton-based station has endured management and budget controversies.

Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV) is a public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable television service in Chicago, Illinois. The organization is funded by cable companies as part of their cable franchise agreements with the City of Chicago. The companies are also required by law to carry the network's five channels.

NewTV is Newton, Massachusetts’ community media center, paid for by taxes on local cable bills.
