Heliothis is a genus of moths in the family Noctuidae. It was first described by Ferdinand Ochsenheimer in 1816. Some of the species have larvae which are agricultural pests on crop species such as tobacco, cotton, soybean and pigeon pea. Some species originally in this genus have been moved to other genera, see Chloridea and Helicoverpa.
Amerila is a genus of moths in the subfamily Arctiinae. A number of species in this genus have a special defence mechanism when they are in their adult stage. When disturbed, they exude a frothy yellow fluid from glands beside the eyes, while making a sizzling noise to ward off their attacker. Similar behaviour has been observed in fertilised females of the North-American moth Utetheisa ornatrix.

Pyrausta is a speciose genus of moths of the family Crambidae. The genus was erected by Franz von Paula Schrank in 1802.
Palpita is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae. Members of the moth genus Stemorrhages may be very similar in appearance.
Petrophila is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae. The genus was described by Lansdown Guilding in 1830.
Phostria is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae.
Piletocera is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae. The genus was first described by Julius Lederer in 1863.
Pilocrocis is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae. The genus was first erected by Julius Lederer in 1863.
Prionapteryx is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae.
Syllepte is a genus of moths in the family Crambidae.
Acontia is a genus of moths of the family Noctuidae. The genus was named by Ferdinand Ochsenheimer in 1816. Eusceptis, Pseudalypia and Spragueia are sometimes included in the present genus, but here they are tentatively treated as different pending further research. Many species of Tarache were also once placed here.
Catephia is a genus of moths of the family Erebidae. Most species of this genus are found in Africa.
Desmia is a genus of moths of the family Crambidae. The genus was erected by John O. Westwood in 1832.
