Purushottam Publishers is an independent publishing house and media company headquartered in Baranagar, West Bengal, India, publishing K-12 school textbooks, academic research and career guidebooks for University and College level and General books of various genre. [1] Founded in 2009, this publishing house is a venture of the JIPL Group. [2] [3]

History

Between January and June 2009, Snehangshu Banerjee and Biswapriyo Bandyopadhyay came together as first-generation entrepreneurs in Baranagar, Kolkata. They founded the JIPL Group [4] and subsequently Purushottam Publishers. [5] The book Fishermen of The Coastal Districts of Bengal [6] by researcher, academic author Dr. Surjendu Dey, [7] and Leadership & Entrepreneurship 2020 – by Er. Ravinder Kumar Handa [8] were the company's significant published works during its early days. The pair sold the books on their own to independent bookstores. The book Fishermen of The Coastal Districts of Bengal won the Meghnad Saha Memorial Award and Medal in February 2016. Purushottam Publishers' subsequent works included several other [9] academic titles.

The company specializes in K-12 [10] [11] School textbooks for English / Bengali Medium schools of CISCE/CBSE Board, and also books/ebooks in higher academic research.

The firm is named after Swami Shankar Purushottam Tirtha Ji Maharaj by the primary stakeholders, [12] [13] who are disciples of the Siddhayoga lineage of Saints.

Narayan Debnath was an Indian comics artist, writer and illustrator. He created the Bengali comic strips Handa Bhonda (1962), Bantul the Great (1965) and Nonte Phonte (1969). He holds the record of longest running comics by an individual artiste for Handa Bhonda comics series which completed its continuous 53 years of running. He was the first and only comics artist in India who has received a D. Litt. degree. Debnath was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, in the year 2021.

The Tirtha lineage of Siddhayoga is a mystical sect of Shaivite Hinduism. It believes in direct encounters with life-force or kundalini shakti, and understanding of the Shastras. It places importance on the guru-disciple bond, as, according to this tradition, the guru transfers shakti, the divine energy, to the disciple through a transformative process known as Shaktipat. Shakti is said to be automatically infused into a disciple by a guru in a process called Shaktipat.

It was founded on August 16, 1854 at Garanhata, Chitpur, "with the purpose of establishing an institution for teaching the youth of all classes, industrial art based on scientific methods." as the School of Industrial Art. The institute was later renamed as the Government School of Art and in 1951 it became the Government College of Art & Craft.

Apple Books is an e-book reading and store application by Apple Inc. for its iOS, iPadOS and macOS operating systems and devices. Ravinder Singh is an Indian software engineer and author of nine novels — I Too Had a Love Story, Can Love Happen Twice?, Like it happened Yesterday, Love Stories That Touched My Heart, Tell Me A Story, Your Dreams are Mine Now, This Love That Feels Right, Will You Still Love Me? and The Belated Bachelor Party. He started his career as an IT professional in Infosys. His girlfriend died in 2007 before they got formally engaged. He adapted his own story into his first novel I Too Had a Love Story which was published in 2008. Writing the book helped him cope with the tragedy in his life.
