RS Infotainment is an Indian film production and distribution company headed by Elred Kumar. The studio has produced films made in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. [1]

History

Elred Kumar was first announced as "a businessman passionate about the film industry" in an article by the Economic Times in 2009, RS Infotainment are the producers of Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) alongside VTV Ganesh and Escape Artists Motion Pictures' Madan. [2]

After having enjoyed success with their initial ventures such as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), Ko (2011) and Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014), their recent ventures have been less profitable. [3] [4]

The story portrays the love and affection between two families. The film, produced by Kavithalayaa Productions, was Vasanthabalan's directorial debut and became an average success. It is however best known for featuring the popular chartbuster track "Chellame Chellam" from Karthik Raja's soundtrack to the film, which was award-winning playback singer Shreya Ghoshal's first song in Tamil language. The plot revolves around Jeeva and Viji's family who are neighbours to each other. Viji falls in love with Jeeva and they both start loving each other. How they over come their hurdles and unite forms the story.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Silambarasan and Trisha. Jointly produced by Elred Kumar, Jayaraman, VTV Ganesh and P. Madan under the banner Escape Artists Motion Pictures and RS Infotainment, the film was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The story was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, however, with a different cast.

<i>Veera</i> (2018 film) 2018 film by Rajaraman

Veera is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Rajaraman and produced by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment. The film stars Kreshna and Iswarya Menon in the leading roles, with Karunakaran, Rajendran and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. Leon James composed the original score and soundtrack for the film, while Bakkiyam Shankar wrote the film's script. Having begun production in August 2015, the film had gone through a change of cast before being released on 16 February 2018.
