Rachel Westaway is an Australian politician serving as the member for Prahran in the Victorian Legislative Assembly since winning the 2025 Prahran state by-election. She is a member of the Victorian Liberal Party.
Under her previous name Rachel Creek,she was a candidate for the New South Wales Legislative Council in the 2003 New South Wales state election. [1] She was in 10th place on the party list and was not elected. [2]
Westaway served as a senior member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal until it was abolished in October 2024. [3]
In February 2025,Westaway was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly at the 2025 Prahran state by-election which was held following the resignation of Sam Hibbins. Her campaign was based on "law-and-order" according to the ABC. [4]
Westaway has lived in South Yarra for 20 years and is of Thai-Chinese descent. [5] She is President of the Thai Australian Chamber in South Yarra. [6] [ better source needed ]
