Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan is a Pakistani military officer, currently serving as the commander of the Balochistan Corps. [1] He previously served as the 36th president of the National Defence University from May 2023 to November 2023. [2]
Khan was commissioned into the 1st Battalion of the Frontier Force Regiment on 5 September 1990. He graduated from the Command and Staff College, Quetta and obtained his military education at the École supérieure de guerre (now College Interarmees de Defense) in France, and the National Defence University, Islamabad. [3]
Khan commanded the 1st Battalion of his parent regiment in Malir and Multan cantonments and led an infantry brigade in North Waziristan and Khyber agencies. He also commanded an infantry division in Bahawalpur and served as inspector general Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North), managing military operations. [3]
He held staff positions, including brigade major at the DAPS (V), an independent infantry brigade group. He served as a vice chief of Army Staff Secretariat, and commander at II Corps, Punjab. As an instructor, he served at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) at Kakul, the School of Armour and Mechanized Warfare in Nowshera, Command and Staff College Quetta, and the National Defence University. Khan was promoted to the rank of major general in June 2018 [4] and later in 2023, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in 2023 before being appointed as president of the National Defence University. [3]
He also held oversea military assignments, including, in Force Command Northern Areas (Indus Sector), which was a part of the United Nations Mission in Bosnia. [3]
Khan was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz in 2022 by the president of Pakistan Arif Alvi. [5]
General Muhammad Musa Khan was a Pakistani senior military officer who served as the 4th Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan Army from 1958 to 1966, under president Ayub Khan. Following his tenure as C-in-C of the Army, he later became a politician.

It is one of four Frontier Corps with the others being: FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North) and FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) stationed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and FC Balochistan (South) stationed in the southern part of Balochistan province.
