Rainbow Valley is the second studio album by Australian singer Matt Corby. It was released on 2 November 2018 through Universal Music Australia.

Contents

At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for three awards; Best Male Artist, Best Soul/R&B Release while Dann Hume won Producer of the Year for this release. [1]

At the J Awards of 2019, the album won Australian Album of the Year. [2]

Background

Corby spent time travelling and experimenting with a friend Alex Henriksson, with the ideas they created becoming the basis for Rainbow Valley.

Following the August 2018 release of "No Ordinary Life", Corby released the single "All Fired Up" and announced the release of Rainbow Valley. [3] "All That I See" was released as the album's third single in October 2018. [4]

Corby plays all instruments and sings all vocals on the record. [5]

Evermore are a band originally from Feilding, New Zealand, now based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The band consists of brothers Jon, Peter and Dann Hume. The album peaked at No. 15 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, and received platinum accreditation in 2005. The album was nominated for four ARIA Music Awards in 2005. It reached No. 30 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart for albums.

Light Surrounding You 2006 single by Evermore

"Light Surrounding You" is the second single by alternative rock band, Evermore, taken from their second studio album, Real Life. It was written by Dann Hume, the group's drummer. The record is co-produced by Jon Hume. The song was released in October 2006 and peaked at No. 15 on the RIANZ Singles Chart in New Zealand and number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, making it Evermore's most successful single in Australia. It was the first single by a New Zealand artist to top the Australian charts since "How Bizarre" by OMC in 1996.

Matthew John Corby is an Australian singer-songwriter. He achieved his commercial breakthrough with his fourth EP, Into the Flame (2011), which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and by April 2012, was certified 6× Platinum by ARIA. His 2011 single "Brother" and his 2013 single "Resolution" both won ARIA Music Awards for Song of the Year. He is the 26th Australian male singer and the 100th Australian act to reach the number one position on the ARIA albums chart with his debut album Telluric (2016).
