[1] The seat was formed in 2008 after the demolition of Raipur Town Vidhan Sabha Constituency. It is part of Raipur district. Former Minister of Chhattisgarh Government Brijmohan Agrawal has been the incumbent MLA since 2008 and has won four times from this seat only.
