Dame Rajkumari Bibiji Amrit Kaur DStJ was an Indian activist and politician. Following her long-lasting association with the Indian independence movement, she was appointed the first Health Minister of India in 1947 and remained in office until 1957. She also held the charge of Sports Minister and Urban Development Minister and was instrumental in setting up the National Institute of Sports, Patiala. During her tenure, Kaur ushered in several healthcare reforms in India and is widely remembered for her contributions to the sector and her advocacy of women's rights. Kaur was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India, the body that framed the Constitution of India.

A member of the national recurve team representing India at the international events since 2007, she has won a silver medal at the World Archery Championships, and four gold, five silver, and four bronze medals at various editions of the Archery World Cup. Deepika Kumari also defeated Mexico by 5–1 in the final to win gold in Paris.
Gagandeep Kaur is an Indian archer. She is the first archer from Punjab to win a medal (bronze) in the Archery women's compound team with Jhano Hansdah and Bhagyabati Chanu, defeating Malaysia. For her unexpected performance, she was even awarded with Rs 2 lakh cash award from Punjab University in Patiala.

Baatth is the first female boxer from Punjab to participate in the Olympics. Simranjit won silver at the 2019 Asian Championships and bronze at the 2018 World Championships. She won gold medal at the Cologne Boxing World Cup in Germany.
