Ratneshwar Lal Kayastha (born 3 May 1944) is a Nepalese politician and former Governor of Province No. 2. He was appointed as a governor of Province No. 2 by the Government of Nepal on 17 January 2018. [3] [4] He served as a Governor of Province No. 2 from 19 January 2018 to 03 November 2019. [5] [6] [7]
Earlier,he was the Secretary at Ministry of Agriculture and Director General at Department of Irrigation,Nepal. Kayastha began his political career with Federal Socialist Forum,Nepal in the 2004.
Ratneshwar Lal Kayastha was born at Suga Bhawani (now Jaleshwar),Mahottari on 3 May 1944 to Lal Kishore Lal &Achakmani Devi. [8] His father was a secondary level Teacher. [9] He was passed School Leaving Certificate (SLC) in 1st division from Laxmi Chand Murarka Higher Secondary School in Jaleshwar and earned an Intermediates degree with Science from Tri-Chandra College,Kathmandu. He further studied Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) from the same college and later he moved to IIT,Kharaghpur and Imperial College London for higher education degree. [9]
Kayastha joined Civil services of Nepal as an Engineer in 1964. [9]
Dev Raj Joshi is a Nepalese politician,belonging to the Nepali Congress. He was Appointed Governor,as per the Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on 9 November 2021. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election he was elected from the Bajura-1 constituency,winning 19271 votes.

In the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,a governor is the constitutional head of each of the seven provinces. The governor is appointed by the president of Nepal recommended by federal cabinet for a term of five years,and holds office at the president's pleasure. The governor is de jure head of the provincial government;all its executive actions are taken in the governor's name. However,the governor must act on the advice of the popularly elected council of ministers,headed by the chief minister,which thus holds de facto executive authority at the province-level. The Constitution of Nepal also empowers the governor to act upon his or her own discretion,such as the ability to appoint or dismiss a ministry,recommend president's rule for the president's assent.
Manish Kumar Suman is a Nepalese politician. He is a member of the Province No. 2 Provincial Assembly,and currently represents Saptari 2 constituency. Suman left Rastriya Janata Party and joined People's Socialist Party,Nepal since 2020.
Somnath Adhikari affectionately known as Pyasi,is a Nepalese politician serving as the 2nd and current Governor of Province No. 1 of Nepal. He is former member of the National Panchayat from 1986 to 1991 and member of Pratinidhi Sabha from 1991 to 1994. The 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress,in which delegates of the Nepali Congress Party re-elected Sher Bahadur Deuba as chairman,was held December 13–15,2021,at Bhrikuti Mandap,Kathmandu. Similarly,the convention of the six Province was held from 2–3 December. The convention of the Pradesh 2 was delayed and held after National Convention on 22–23 December 2021.

Binda Man Bista is a Nepalese politician and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Karnali Province. He is also a member of Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province belonging to the CPN. Bista,a resident of Barahatal Rural Municipality,was elected via 2017 Nepalese provincial elections from Surkhet 2(B).
The first Gandaki Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 60 members were elected to the assembly,36 of whom were elected through direct elections and 24 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 4 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Prithvi Subba Gurung from the CPN (UML) and Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel from the Nepali Congress served as chief ministers during the term of the assembly. Netra Nath Adhikari served as the speaker of the assembly and Srijana Sharma served as the deputy speaker.
