Relva is a settlement in the eastern part of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It is situated near the coast, 7 km southeast of Mosteiros and 23 km southeast of the island capital São Filipe. The municipal boundary with Santa Catarina do Fogo is over a kilometer south and sits over 5 km east of the nation's tallest summit Pico do Fogo.
Fogo is an island in the Sotavento group of Cape Verde. Its population is 35,837 (2015), with an area of 476 km². It reaches the highest altitude of all the islands in Cape Verde, rising to 2,829 metres above sea level at the summit of its active volcano, Pico do Fogo.
Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles. Mosteiros is a city in the northeastern part of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It is situated on the coast, 24 km northeast of the island capital São Filipe. It is the seat of the Mosteiros Municipality and of the civil parish Nossa Senhora da Ajuda. At the 2010 census its population was 4,124, making it the island's second most populated place.
Just east of the coast forms a part of the Fogo Marine IBA, [2] and west of the village is the Fogo Natural Park.
Fogo Natural Park, on the island of Fogo, is one of ten "natural parks" in the country of Cape Verde. The protected area is 84.69 km2 (32.70 sq mi), which is 17.8% of the total area of the island. 50% of the park lies within the municipality Santa Catarina do Fogo, 28% in municipality of Mosteiros and 22% in São Filipe. The natural park is situated in the interior of the island, and covers the volcano Pico do Fogo, its crater and crater rim (Bordeira) and the forest of Monte Velha. The volcano is active; the most recent eruption was in 2014-15.
As with other parts of Fogo, Agriculture is its main industry.
It is one of the places on the island where the island of Santiago can be seen. Also it is the closest part of the island that is closest to the island of Santiago being 55.3 km from the point west of Porto Rincão.
Santiago is the largest island of Cape Verde, its most important agricultural centre and home to half the nation’s population. Part of the Sotavento Islands, it lies between the islands of Maio and Fogo. It was the first of the islands to be settled: the town of Ribeira Grande was founded in 1462. Around 73,000 BC or 75,000 years ago, the area was formed as part of the interior of the earlier Fogo Mountain, its landscape before was about 1,500 meters (4,500 feet) higher, the eastern half collapsed and with some erosion and lava flow over the centuries, it would form the current landscape. It is situated near the rocky north coast of the island, 2 km southwest of Ponta do Sol and 19 km north of the island capital Porto Novo. The settlement includes the smaller villages Corvo and Forminguinhas, about 1 km west of Fontainhas proper.

Pombas is a city in the northeastern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. It is the seat of the municipality Paul. It is situated on the coast, at the mouth of the Ribeira do Paul, 7 km (4.3 mi) southeast of Ribeira Grande and 15 km (9.3 mi) north of the island capital Porto Novo. The national roads EN1-SA02 and EN1-SA03 connect Pombas with Ribeira Grande and Porto Novo, respectively. Pombas was elevated from town to city in 2010.
