Rescue is the fifth studio album by the Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein. It was released on 26 April 2011, [1] the first full-length album to be released through Hopeless Records.
Rescue was produced by Jordan Valeriote and mixed by Cameron Webb. [2] [nb 1] The album was recorded over a longer period of time than any of their other albums, taking place over two separate sessions over a year apart, which the band has since said caused the album to have a more ‘disjointed’ feeling. [7] Initial sessions for the album took place in the spring of 2009 shortly after the release of their fourth full length album A Shipwreck In The Sand . The release of Shipwreck completed their contract with Victory Records and they recorded about 5-6 new songs that would end up on Rescue to shop to new record labels, ultimately settling on Hopeless Records. Three of these demos were included on the deluxe version of the album.
The material on Rescue was described by Told as "a cross between Discovering and Shipwreck ". [8]
Rescue contains two songs from the band's previously released EP Transitions .

A music video was released for the song "Sacrifice". On February 5, 2011, the band played a free show in Toronto, with Robby Starbuck filming the event for a music video for the song "The Artist", released on March 28. Frontman, Shane Told revealed that a video will also be released for the song "Burning Hearts". [11] Told also announced that there will be a 7" vinyl release for "The Artist" on their Record Store Day and it will have 3 exclusive covers as B-sides [12] along with there being an iTunes exclusive track for the album as well. [13] In April and May, the band co-headlined the Take Action Tour with Bayside. They were supported by Polar Bear Club, The Swellers and Texas in July. [14]

Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album by the American rock band the Doors, released by Elektra Records on July 3, 1968. The album's 11 tracks were recorded between late 1967 and May 1968 mostly at TTG Studios in Los Angeles. It became the band's only number one album, topping the Billboard 200 for four weeks, while also including their second US number one single, "Hello, I Love You". The first single released off the record was "The Unknown Soldier", which peaked at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became the band's first hit album in the UK, where it reached number 16.
The Soft Parade is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Doors, released on July 18, 1969, by Elektra Records. Most of the album was recorded following a grueling tour during which the band was left with little time to compose new material. Record producer Paul A. Rothchild recommended a total departure from the Doors' first three albums: develop a fuller sound by incorporating brass and string arrangements provided by Paul Harris. Lead singer Jim Morrison, who was dealing with personal issues and focusing more on his poetry, was less involved in the songwriting process, allowing guitarist Robby Krieger to increase his own creative output.
Silverstein is a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein, whom the band had admired and whose work they had read as children. They have released a total of 11 studio albums, seven EPs, a compilation album and a live DVD/CD. Their lineup remained unchanged for eleven years from December 2001 to September 2012, then consisting of lead vocalist Shane Told, lead guitarist Neil Boshart, rhythm guitarist Josh Bradford, bassist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. In September 2012, the band had announced that Neil Boshart had been fired and would be replaced by Paul Marc Rousseau, who also joined Billy Hamilton on backing vocals. The band achieved moderate success with their second studio album, Discovering the Waterfront, which was nominated for a Juno Award and reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200 charts, with the following two albums charting at similar positions. Silverstein has sold over 1,000,000 albums worldwide.
Slide It In is the sixth studio album by British hard rock band Whitesnake. Originally released on 30 January 1984 in Europe, by Liberty/EMI, it was remixed for the American market, later issued on 16 April 1984 in North America by Geffen. In Japan, it was issued a "European" Mix release date on 23 March 1984, and an "American" remix on 29 December 1984 by CBS/Sony. Widely regarded as a moderate success, it helped the American market to open up for the band's sound and breakthrough throughout the later 1980s. Historically, it was the final Whitesnake recording to use the band's original "snake" logo.
"Side" is a song by Scottish rock band Travis, released as the second single from their third studio album, The Invisible Band (2001). Frontman Fran Healy began writing the song by composing a rap, which he would later remove, and penning a riff that would support it. In February 2000, he completed the song's lyrics, which describe how everyone shares life and explains that there is no greater existence for anyone who seeks it, as everyone shares the same "side" of life. The song was released as a radio single in the United States in August 2001 and was issued in the United Kingdom the following month.
Discovering the Waterfront is the second studio-album by Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein. The album was promoted with three music-videos for the tracks "Smile in Your Sleep", "Discovering the Waterfront", and "My Heroine".
"Burning Down the House" is a song by new wave band Talking Heads, released in July 1983 as the first single from their fifth studio album Speaking in Tongues.

Transitions is the third EP by Canadian rock band Silverstein. It is the band's first release with Hopeless since they left their longtime label, Victory Records. Transitions was released digitally through online media outlets on December 7, 2010. It's also the band's first EP since When the Shadows Beam in 2002, prior to signing with Victory.
Short Songs is the sixth studio album by Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein. The release has an untraditional number of songs at 22, though as its title suggests, all songs are short and mostly under 90 seconds. Only 11 of the songs are original, while the other 11 are covers of songs by notable punk, hardcore, and screamo bands that influenced Silverstein, such as Green Day, Orchid, Dead Kennedys, Gorilla Biscuits and NOFX. It is the band's second release on Hopeless Records and like their last release, it was also produced by Jordan Valeriote. It is also the band's last release with long-time guitarist Neil Boshart, who left the band in the summer of 2012.
This Is How the Wind Shifts is the seventh studio album by Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein, released on February 5, 2013 through Hopeless Records. It is also their last release under Hopeless.
I Am Alive in Everything I Touch is the eighth studio album by Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein. The album was released on May 19, 2015 through Rise Records (worldwide) and New Damage Records (Canada).
