Retrogore is the ninth studio album by Belgium-based death metal band, Aborted. It was released on 22 April 2016 worldwide, through Century Media Records. [6] It is the first Aborted album with guitarist Ian Jekelis, and the last with bassist JB van der Wal.

Contents

The first song, "Retrogore", was streamed on 8 March 2016 via YouTube. [7] The song "Termination Redux" previously made an appearance on the band's 2016 EP Termination Redux .

Critical reception

Retrogore received overwhelmingly positive critical reception upon release, with many reviewers praising it to be the best record the band has released to this date. [8]

Chart performance

The album peaked at No. 59 on the Belgian albums chart, making it Aborted's best charting album until the release of TerrorVision . [9] [10] The album remained in the Belgian charts for a total of four weeks.

The album was licensed to be released in Germany and neighboring countries through GUN Records in January 2003 as a special extended edition with four bonus tracks. The same edition reached the United Kingdom through Sanctuary Records with a release in September 2004. The album was re-released by Roadrunner Records on 28 September 2007, with bonus live tracks. On 5 August 2008, Mother Earth along with The Silent Force was released in the United States on Roadrunner Records. On 17 December 2018, it was announced that the album would be rereleased on vinyl in January 2019.

MTV Unplugged is the first live album by Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, released by Maverick Records in the United States on November 9, 1999. It comprises songs performed by Morissette on the television program MTV Unplugged. Twelve tracks were included on the album, but Morissette also performed "Baba", "Thank U" and "Your House" during the live taping. These were later released as B-sides on the "King of Pain" single release. The group currently consists of vocalist, founder and only constant member Sven de Caluwé, guitarist Ian Jekelis, guitarist Dan Konráðsson and drummer Ken Bedene. Although the band originally had an entire lineup of members living in Belgium, Aborted's current lineup now features members from Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland and the United States.
