São Paulo Futebol Clube, more commonly referred to as simply São Paulo, is a professional football club in the affluent Morumbi district of São Paulo, Brazil. It plays in Campeonato Paulista, São Paulo's premier state league and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top tier of Brazilian football. Despite being primarily a football club, São Paulo competes in a wide variety of sports. Its home ground is the multipurpose 72,039-seater MorumBIS Stadium, the biggest private-owned field in Brazil and considered one of the temples of South American football. São Paulo is Brazil’s biggest worldwide champion and also one of the only two clubs that have never been relegated from the top division, the other being Flamengo.

The 2010 Recopa Sul-Brasileira was the 4th edition of South Brazil Super Cup. All matches of the competition were played at Estádio Antônio Vieira Ramos, which is the home stadium of Cerâmica, in Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul. The competition started on December 3 and concluded on December 5. Four clubs participated of the competition: Cerâmica, of Rio Grande do Sul, Cerâmica were invited as Internacional B withdrew, Roma Apucarana of Paraná, Paulista of São Paulo, and Brusque of Santa Catarina. Paulista sent its youth squad instead of the main team.

The 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A was the 64th season of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top level of professional football in Brazil, and the 17th edition in a double round-robin since its establishment in 2003. The competition was originally scheduled to begin on 3 May and end on 6 December, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled, starting on 8 August 2020 and ending on 25 February 2021.
The 2020 season was Sport Recife's 116th season in the club's history. Sport competed in the Campeonato Pernambucano, Copa do Nordeste, Série A and Copa do Brasil.
