The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is the agency in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania responsible for protecting and preserving the land,air,water,and public health through enforcement of the state's environmental laws. It was created by Act 18 of 1995,which split the Department of Environmental Resources into the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. State Attorney General Josh Shapiro (D) defeated State Senator Doug Mastriano (R) by 14.8 percentage points to succeed term-limited incumbent Governor Tom Wolf (D). Primaries were held on May 17,2022. Shapiro won the Democratic nomination after running unopposed and Mastriano won the Republican nomination with 44% of the vote. Mastriano's nomination drew attention due to his far-right political views.

Incumbent Democratic attorney general Josh Shapiro defeated Republican Heather Heidelbaugh to win a second term. With this victory,earning 3,461,472 votes and outperforming Joe Biden in the concurrent presidential election,Shapiro became the highest votegetter in Pennsylvania history.
Valerie A. Arkoosh is an American anesthesiologist,politician,and academic who is the current secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services,serving since 2023. Arkoosh was formerly the chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and the first female chair.

The necessary primary elections were held on May 16,2023. In addition,special elections for legislative vacancies could be held at various times in 2023.
The 2023 Philadelphia City Council elections was held November 7,2023 for elections of all seats in the Philadelphia City Council. The Democratic Party maintained its super-majority on the council. The election took place on the same day as the 2023 Philadelphia mayoral election and other local elections in the Commonwealth.
The 2024 Pennsylvania Attorney General election will be held on November 5,2024,to elect the Attorney General of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
