Richville is an unincorporated community in southeastern Douglas County, Missouri, United States. [1] Richville is located at the intersection of Missouri State Route 14 and State route W and a short distance west of the intersection of Route 14 and Missouri State Route 181. The site is located on a high ridge at an elevation of 1,191 ft (363 m). [1] Sauls Knob at 1,339 ft (408 m) [2] lies just to the southeast on the south side of Route 14. [3]
A post office called Richville was established in 1870, and remained in operation until 1933. [4] The community was named after the local Rich family. [5]
Douglas County is a county located in the south-central portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 11,578. The county seat and only incorporated community is Ava. The county was officially organized on October 19, 1857, and is named after U.S. Senator Stephen A. Douglas (D-Illinois) and later Democratic presidential candidate.
Cedar Creek or Cedarcreek is an unincorporated community in Taney County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately fifteen miles southeast of Branson at the intersection of Missouri Supplemental Routes M and KK. The stream Cedar Creek lies about three miles north on route M.
