Douglas County is a county located in the south-central portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 11,578. The county seat and only incorporated community is Ava. The county was officially organized on October 19, 1857, and is named after U.S. Senator Stephen A. Douglas (D-Illinois) and later Democratic presidential candidate.
Route 76 is a highway in the west half of southern Missouri running between U.S. Route 60 and U.S. Route 63 at Willow Springs and the Oklahoma state line near Tiff City where it continues as a county road. It bypasses Branson on the Ozark Mountain High Road and is the namesake of the Branson strip, 76 Country Blvd. The road runs for its entirety through the Missouri Ozarks, and is at times very hilly and curvy.
Almartha is an unincorporated community in northern Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately thirteen miles north of Gainesville and four miles southeast of Wasola on Route 95. The village is located in a valley on a tributary of Spring Creek. Several homes are located there. The old mill and current fish hatchery of Rockbridge lies downstream on Spring Creek, about six miles to the east.
Rockbridge is an unincorporated community in northern Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is the site of an old mill on spring fed Spring Creek, a tributary of Bryant Creek, which still houses the post office. It lies twelve miles north of Gainesville on Missouri Route N, approximately one and one-half miles north of Route 95. The narrow valley floor is only about 650 feet (200 m) wide and at an elevation of 770 feet (230 m) and the Ozark ridges on either side are 200 to 250 feet higher.
Brownbranch is an unincorporated community in northeastern Taney County, Missouri, United States. It is located on Beaver Creek at the intersection of Route 76 and Missouri Supplemental Route W, approximately 23 miles (37 km) northeast of Forsyth. Bradleyville lies about 5.7 miles (9.2 km) to the west on Route 76 and McClurg lies about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) to the east on Route W. The community is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Drury is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately fifteen miles south of Mountain Grove and about three miles south of Vanzant on Route 95.
Gentryville is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately twenty-one miles southeast of Ava and twenty-two miles south of Mountain Grove at the intersection of Route 14 and Route 95. It consists of a small general store, an automotive repair shop, and a few churches. Gentryville cemetery and church are located about one-quarter mile north on Route 95.
Brushyknob is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. The community is located on Route 76, approximately fourteen miles east of Ava. The old townsite is located along Route 76 on Tarbutton Creek, about 1.5 miles east of Bryant Creek at an elevation of 920 feet. The Brushyknob church and cemetery is on a ridge flat about 3500 feet to the south-southeast and some 200 feet higher in elevation. The historic Brushyknob school is 850 feet south of the church.
Trail is an unincorporated community in northern Ozark County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately twenty-two miles northeast of Gainesville. Access is from Missouri Route 14 in Douglas County south via route AC. The village site is located adjacent to Trail Creek. Trail Creek flows into Bryant Creek, about one mile to the southwest. The Trail cemetery lies about a mile to the northeast along Trail Creek.
Cedar Creek or Cedarcreek is an unincorporated community in Taney County, Missouri, United States. It is located approximately fifteen miles southeast of Branson at the intersection of Missouri Supplemental Routes M and KK. The stream Cedar Creek lies about three miles north on route M. The community is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Calwood is an unincorporated community in Callaway County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community lies at the intersection of Missouri Routes JJ and Z approximately one mile south of I-70. Fulton is about six miles to the southwest on Route Z. Auxvasse Creek flows past approximately one mile to the northeast.

Prior is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. The community is located on Missouri Route 95, just north of the intersection with Missouri Route 76 and 2.5 miles north of Vanzant. The community sits on a ridge between Fox Creek to the west and Clifty Creek to the east, at an elevation of 1,243 ft (379 m).
Roy is an unincorporated community in southwestern Douglas County, Missouri, United States. Roy is located on Missouri Route 76, south of the Goodhope junction on Missouri Route T. The village site is at an elevation of 1,263 ft (385 m) about 1.5 mile west of the Beaver Creek valley.
Sweden is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. Sweden lies in the south-central part of the county. The former Sweden store is located on Missouri Route 14, one-half mile east of the intersection of Route 14 and State Route P. Sweden community church and cemetery lie one-quarter mile north of the former store location on a county road.
