Ridinghouse was founded in 1995 as a British book publisher specialising in art. [1] [ non-primary source needed ]
Ridinghouse was established by Karsten Schubert (with Charles Asprey and Thomas Dane) as a stand-alone publisher [2] alongside its founders' gallery activities. The company publishes art writing and criticism, art history, and individual artists' work and specific projects. Ridinghouse has published books in association with Whitechapel Gallery, Arnolfini, Thames & Hudson, Galerie Max Hetzler, Art Monthly, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Haus der Kunst, Leeds Art Gallery, Kettle's Yard, The Photographers' Gallery, Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
Notable published artists include Bridget Riley, John Stezaker, Richard Deacon, Glenn Ligon, Mel Bochner, Gillian Wearing, Anya Gallaccio, Fred Wilson, Michael Landy and Alison Wilding. Michael Landy is one of the Young British Artists (YBAs). He is best known for the performance piece installation Break Down (2001), in which he destroyed all his possessions, and for the Art Bin project (2010) at the South London Gallery. On 29 May 2008, Landy was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Bridget Louise Riley is an English painter known for her op art paintings. She lives and works in London, Cornwall and the Vaucluse in France.
Tess Jaray is a British painter and printmaker. She taught at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL from 1968 until 1999. The book is considered an essential measure of the state of Tasmania's islands, birds inhabiting them, and the condition of the islands. The main author was Nigel Brothers, a Hobart based biologist, the other contributors were Vanessa Halley, Helen Pryor, and David Pemberton.
The Tasmanian archipelago is made up of 334 islands. This book highlights the uniqueness and importance of 280, as significant breeding refuges and wealthy natural resources. Islands are documented with descriptions of topography, wildlife, vegetation and full-colour photographs."

Sarah Berman (1895-1957) was a Ukrainian-American self-taught Naïve artist and primitive Social Realist whose career began in New York City during the late 1910’s and remained active until her death in 1957. Sarah's works are notable for her primitive human fantasy scenes along with her depictions of social realism and illustrative political commentary. Berman's greatest works are those that showcase the different, naïve social fantasy she was capable of articulating. Although her works are in many museums, Sarah Berman chose to never sell a piece of art.

Gustavo Ramos is a Brazilian-American fine artist and oil painter. He initially gained recognition for painting a series of realistic portraits that went on to receive national and international awards. In 2020, he was a featured artist at the Springville Museum of Art, where one of his paintings was acquired for the museum's permanent collection. In 2022, he was selected as a winner of Royal Talens' The Year of Rembrandt Award, when his work was displayed in the Rijksmuseum.
