Roans Prairie (or Roan's Prairie) is an unincorporated community in Grimes County, in east central Texas, United States. State Highways 30 and 90 intersect here, seventeen miles northeast of Navasota in central Grimes County. [1]
Public education in the community of Roans Prairie is provided by the Anderson-Shiro Consolidated Independent School District.
Roans Prairie is the planned location of the Brazos Valley station, one of the three stations part of Texas Central Railway high-speed line between Dallas and Houston. The station is meant to serve Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University. The project has faced resistance from residents doubting the economic benefit and fearing eminent domain. The project is due to be done in 2026. [2] [3]
Grimes County is a county located in southeastern Texas in the United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 29,268. The seat of the county is Anderson. The county was formed from Montgomery County in 1846. It is named for Jesse Grimes, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence and early European-American settler of the county.

College Station and Bryan make up the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area, the 13th-largest metropolitan area in Texas with 273,101 people as of 2019.

Indian Prairie School District 204 serves roughly 27,400 students from the Illinois communities of Aurora, Bolingbrook, Plainfield and Naperville, in DuPage and Will counties. Currently, one preschool, twenty-one elementary schools, seven middle schools, four high schools, and one alternative high school are in the district. Riverstone is a 3,700-acre (15 km2) upscale master-planned residential community in Fort Bend County, Texas. About 18,000 residents ultimately will live in 6000 homes. The development is largely located in the unincorporated areas of Sugar Land and Missouri City, with a portion being in Missouri City proper.

Texas Central or Texas Central Partners, LLC, is a private railroad company that is proposing a high-speed rail line between Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. Ray Roberts Lake State Park is a state park located in Denton County, Texas, near Pilot Point, Texas. The park is 3,777 acres (1,528 ha). It is very popular due to its proximity to the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area – in 2016, it was the 8th most popular Texas state park with 244,193 visitors. The park is divided into nine units: three are developed, and six have boat ramps with lake access.

Brazos Valley is a planned rail station on the Texas Central Railway high-speed line between Dallas and Houston. Texas is expected to experience a wide range of environmental impacts from climate change in the United States, including rising sea levels, more frequent extreme weather events, and increasing pressure on water resources.
