John Chepkwony Kipkoech is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who competes in the 5000 metres. He represented Kenya in the event at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. He was a silver medallist at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics and a junior team gold medallist at the 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. His personal best of 12:49.50 minutes ranks him in the top twenty all-time runners for the 5000 m.

Jacob Kiplimo is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He is 2020 Tokyo Olympic 10,000 metres bronze medallist and also won bronze in the event at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Kiplimo earned gold medals in the 5000 metres and 10,000 m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. He is the 2020 World Half Marathon champion. On 21 November 2021, Kiplimo set a half marathon world record at 57:31 in Lisbon.
Yemaneberhan "Yeman" Crippa is an Ethiopian-born Italian long-distance runner. He won the gold medal in the 10,000 metres and bronze for the 5000 metres at the European Athletics Championships in 2022, and bronze in the 10,000 m in 2018. Crippa is the European record holder in the 5 km road race and holds five Italian records.
Zenebu Fikadu is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. In 2019, she competed in the senior women's race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Aarhus, Denmark. She finished in 10th place in 37:24 but won the team title.
Thierry Ndikumwenayo is a Spanish-Burundian long-distance runner, most well-known for his cross-country running results.
Mogos Tuemay Abraha is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He competed in the senior men's race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Aarhus, Denmark. He finished in 18th place. In the same year, he also competed in the men's 5000 metres event at the 2019 Diamond League Shanghai where he finished in 13th place with a new personal best of 13:15.04.
Oscar Chelimo is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal for the 5000 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
Rahel Daniel Chebre is an Eritrean long-distance runner. She finished fifth in the 10,000 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
