The Ronchetti Cup (called till 1996 European Cup Liliana Ronchetti and European Cup Winners' Cup till 1974 [1] [2] [3] ) was an annual women's basketball European club competition held by FIBA between the years 1972 and 2002. It was the second competition in European basketball, after the European Cup For Women's Champions Clubs (later renamed EuroLeague Women).
It was replaced in 2002 by the EuroCup Women which is the absolute equivalent.

Liliana Ronchetti started playing basketball in Como, Italy at the age of 20. Ronchetti, or Lily as she was called by her team mates, won 4 consecutive national titles with Como in the 1950s and played 83 games for the Italian national team.
One year after she quit basketball Lily died of cancer. Her name has persisted through the European Cup Liliana Ronchetti (renamed in 1996 more simply Ronchetti Cup). This competition was created by FIBA in 1974 as the second European competition for women's clubs.

The EuroLeague, officially the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier men's league in Europe. The league consists of 18 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league. The league was first organized by FIBA in 1958, subsequently by ULEB in 2000 and then solely the Euroleague Basketball.

TTT Rīga is a professional women's basketball club based in Riga, Latvia. "TTT" means Tram and Trolley Trust. The team held its first official game on 5 November 1958. The 1997 Euroleague Women was the inaugural edition of the competition, a refoundation of the FIBA Women's European Champions Cup, FIBA Europe's premier competition for women's basketball clubs. Running from 2 October 1996 to 10 April 1997, the competition was turned from a European Cup for all national champion clubs to a 16-team semi-closed championship, with champions from lower-seeded national leagues playing instead the second tier Ronchetti Cup; in addition to thirteen national champions the French, German and Italian runners-up were also granted a spot. Other than suppressing the two qualifying rounds, the competition system was the same as that of the 1996 European Cup.
Rosaura del Carmen Sánchez Luján, known as Rosi Sánchez is a Spanish former basketball player who played most of her career in local club Sandra Gran Canaria and in the Italian League. She won two Spanish Cups, two Italian Leagues and the 1999 Ronchetti Cup. With the Spanish national team she won two bronze medals in the EuroBasket. She played in the EuroCup Women from 2006 to 2011 with four different teams.
The 1974–75 Ronchetti Cup was the fourth edition of FIBA's second-tier competition for European women's basketball clubs, previously named FIBA Women's European Cup Winners' Cup. It was renamed in memory of Italian player Liliana Ronchetti, who had died in February 1974 of cancer at the age of 26. It was contested by 30 teams from 15 countries, 17 more contestants than in the previous season, with Austria, Sweden and Switzerland making their debut, and so three qualifying rounds were held instead of two. Spartak Leningrad, which had already dominated the Cup Winners' Cup, defeated Levski-Spartak Sofia in the final to win its fourth title in a row.
Žana Lelas was a Croatian professional basketball player. She represented Yugoslavia and Croatia in basketball and is regarded as one of few players to have represented two nations at international level. She was married to Vjekoslav Lokica, a renowned football coach.
