Rooster Comb is a prominent ridge located in Henry W. Coe State Park, east of Morgan Hill, California and in Stanislaus County. Its name refers to the large fleshy red skin atop a rooster's head. The resemblance to a rooster's comb is evident by the large rock formations running the length of the ridge, separating it from the grassy slopes below. This contrast gives the illusion of a rooster's comb.

Henry W. Coe State Park is a state park of California, USA, preserving a vast tract of the Diablo Range. The park is located closest to the city of Morgan Hill, and is located in both Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties. The park contains over 87,000 acres (35,000 ha), making it the largest state park in northern California, and the second-largest in the state. Managed within its boundaries is a designated wilderness area of about 22,000 acres (8,900 ha). This is officially known as the Henry W. Coe State Wilderness, but locally as the Orestimba Wilderness. The 89,164-acre (36,083 ha) park was established in 1959.

Its alternative name cockscomb reflects that combs are generally larger on males than on females. There can be several fleshy protuberances on the heads and throats of gallinaceous birds, i.e. the comb, wattle, and earlobe, which collectively are called caruncles, however, in turkeys caruncle refers specifically to the fleshy nodules on the head and throat.

Rosecombs are bantam chickens, and are among those known as true bantams, meaning they are not a miniaturised version of a large fowl. The three named peaks in the range — Thomas Cole Mountain, Black Dome, and Blackhead Mountain — are the fourth-, third-, and fifth-highest peaks in the Catskills, respectively. Comb Ridge is a linear north to south-trending monocline nearly 80 miles long in southeast Utah and northeast Arizona. Its northern end merges with the Abajo Mountains some eleven miles west of Blanding. It extends essentially due south for 45 km (28 mi) to the San Juan River. South of the San Juan the ridge turns to the southwest and is more subdued in expression as it extends for an additional 67 km (42 mi) to Laguna Creek 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Kayenta, Arizona.

Soholt Peaks are a group of rugged, ice-free peaks rising between Gifford Peaks and Drake Icefall in the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica. They were named by the University of Minnesota Ellsworth Mountains Party of 1962–63 for Donald E. Soholt, a geologist with that party. The Soholt Peaks were first traversed in December 2013 by Ralf Laier, Pachi Ibarra and Seth Timpano in Alpine style. The expedition was split into two phases due to adverse weather conditions and lasted in total eight days and six nights. It included the First Ascent of First Soholt Peak 2328m, Eley Peak (2311m), Lillywhite Peak (2321m), Fourth Peak (22610m), Rooster Comb Ridge (2250m), Cerro Catedral (2412m), Mount Macalester (2480m) and also the First Descent via the Phylon Ice Fall.
